What sort of a big club would give one of their best players to a rival?

According to the Guardian,Arsene Wenger has said that Podolski & Vermaelen won't be allowed to leave this summer & he also wants Fabianski & Sagna to stay

Fabregas and Ramsey are of the same standard. Wilshire was a promissing kid and is no better now than he was then, he will have to up his game a long way over the next few years to prove himself.

Never thought Pod or Verm were leaving tbh. Fab IMO is gone and Sagna needs to make up his mind. Personally I'd like him to stay as IMO Jenkinson isn't ready yet but give him a season or 2 and he will be.

Ramsey always had potential but not quite at the same level as Fabregas. I remember the first appearances he made for us when he was 16, I've never seen a more accomplished player at that age

Agree that Wilshere has stalled in his development, much like Walcott did for a few seasons. I'm not sure if that's down to injuries but he's had a disappointing season. He could learn from the way Ramsey has silenced his many critics this season.

Ramsey is top quality as far as I'm concerned. Before his injury he showed how good he was, then he had a long period battling to get back to his best, which he's done and improved on that also. That 'tackle' from Shawcross could have ended his career that day and he's done brilliantly, even in the face of some of our own fans slagging him off, to get to where he is today.

As for Wilshere, it's the same story. He has bags of talent, but his injuries are stalling him at the moment. But as long as he can get over them like Ramsey and Walcott have then he has a long Arsenal career ahead of him and I think he'll go on to become one of the best midfielders we've known at Arsenal.

They're not. I wish but its not true. Between 2008-2010 Fabregas was arguably only behind Xavi in terms of distribution.

His best Season (2007-2008) he scored 13 goals had 25 assists and averaged 91% passing accuracy. He was also great for us in BIG games. (United,Spurs, Juve all come to mind)

it seems strange that no club has admitted that Sagna has joined them bearing in mind he was free to sign a pre contract in january. so perhaps this will go to the wire and he will stay if we up our offer, or we win the cup.

If the reports are true, he wants to stay but we're not offering him what he wants.

and this is what ****s us all off, the seeming indifference to do the right thing at the right time and at the right speed. we always seem to drag everything out to the last possible day and then fail in making the right decision and leave ourselves open to losing players and to missing transfer targets. bring back rein and let him run transfer business

I honestly don't think Dein would help these days. Wenger's ego is far too out of control now

i think Dein can control him. i wonder how long Usmanov will be happy to sit quietly in the wings.

Loic Remy was apparently in the stands today. Seeing as he played up in Newcastle yesterday, there's really only one reason he was watching...

That Remy rumour has been quite solid for a while now.
I wouldn't turn a player like him down but he's not the sort of player that will turn us into challengers, he'd be an OK addition for me but wouldn't improve us....

As I said in the other thread I will be joining the 'Wenger out' brigade if this is his solution to our Striker issues.

Remy's no better than Gervinho, Walcott or Podolski. He's inferior to Giroud.

What we need is another step up in class. Signing players because they are a)Cheap b)French is not going to cut it anymore.

We need another Henry/Anelka/Wright/RVP NOT another Gervinho/Wiltord/Aliadière/Reyes.
