This has to be one of the most moronic comments on here, Lamela has played about 8 games and been injured for most of the season, it is impossible to make any judgement yet. All we can go on is his previous displays at Roma, and he looks a superb footballer, time will tell if he can produce in the PL.
Yeah, cos you didn't buy Carroll, Downing, Coates, Adam, Borini, Aspas and Allen for over £100m, did you?
But most of them are not even at our club now as we have cleared most of the dead wood. Your laughing stock club is full of garbage that you overpayed for and you are back in Europa league contention after spunking money on them. We are going for the title and looking down and laughing at you comedy Spurs. Loldado
Hey, Rubber! Watch this team of "garbage" rip you a new one, under a new manager. I think most top players will know that 'Pool fluked this season, so will not be in a hurry to rush to Klanfield, even if you do manage to find some mug chairman to pay £80 million for Goofy (only top midfielders can command that price-tag, not flash-in-the-pan strikers).
How is that a good thing? You spent over £100m on those players, didn't get much back and have lost loads of money over the past couple of years, so that's beneficial somehow? You'll have to do a lot of creative accounting to make the FFP once you're back in Europe, if reports are to be believed, but it's all good? On the other hand, we've got a good strong squad waiting for a decent manager to take over. We're beating teams now, even though our current bloke doesn't have a clue what he's doing.
I thought about this yesterday, Everton finished above us the last two years, and of course your lot the last four. But what really came from it? One CL finish for you the first season we dropped out. At least, now we've now finished above you we have third guaranteed, and just maybe a league title under our belt. At least now we've gone above you it's actually counted for something. Yeah we may not be as good next season, but there's a reason clubs strive to get in the CL, and that's to use it as a stepping stone to further success, I/we trust Rodgers to take us further forward, we both know the perks of being in the CL. Suarez may or may not go, would Madrid really trump up our asking price for some one who is 27? All hypothetical, but if we were not to bottle it this season (Haven't won anything yet) and win the league, for me, the last 4 years would of been well worth it.
[Sir_Red; "Comical." You know, I think you may be catching on at last. A bit slower than some of your mates, but you're getting there
"Yeah we may not be as good next season, but there's a reason clubs strive to get in the CL, and that's to use it as a stepping stone to further success" And the Poool kill that argument stone-dead. For all the years you've been in it, you have had no PL success to "step to" . Ironically, being surpassed on and off pitch in the PL by "small club" Spurs has probably been the key to where you are now. If the cosy little Sky 4 clique was not broken up, you would still be in that comfort zone of deluded arrogance that the Goons like to live in.

Suarez cost us 23mil - If we manage to get a league title (partly through him being the best player in the PL by a mile) and 90mil for him from selling him - I'd say that's a result. If we keep him all the better. So whatever you Spuds want to moan about, we're in a win win situation
"So whatever you Spuds want to moan about" Who is moaning ?? You are merely being educated as to how it will go down. "we're in a win win situation" You get X million, and hope Suarez is not your Bale.
I'm personally not too worried about that. Yes, if we sold Suarez we'd miss his creativity a lot. However, we were top of the league early on in the season whilst Suarez was on his sabbatical for gently kissing Ivanovic's arm lovingly during a match. It would be silly to say that Suarez isn't central to our team, but losing him certainly wouldn't destroy us... especially not if we had a huge chunka-money in our pocket to spend on some high class footballing talent... like Derek Asamoah for example.
