Wonder if other clubs have fans who would text to complain about their own fans standing. No doubt someone whose wife was attending her first game as part of a day out in London and she wasn't happy though she wouldn't have a clue who was who or some twats who can't get to the KC but can manage Wembley.

That's cos Allam's was a **** and didn't offer any of the £60 pound seats to the fans - he reserved them himself - Sheff U fans were able to buy them
 
What a day!, arrived back in Brid. 12.30 slightly hung over, hoarse and skint.Cant begin to describe the roller-coaster of emotions my beloved tigers put me through, never a dull moment is there.

Just one negative from me, £5 a pint for a pint of what they laughingly called beer.Too many positives to list but the highlights were seeing the the Tiger Nation out in force at the Torch pub, the policing (yes I know , but the ones we met were friendly and helpful), the stewards where we were sat were good , we spent as much time standing as sitting but nothing was said.

Great second half display by the lads, but please can you turn up for the first half of the final.Finally Steve Bruce, what a manager.His half time substitutions won the game for us.
 
Aabsolutely brilliant day that second half was just fantastic our hands are red raw from clapping and my voice has almost gone. Stayed over last night and got rat arsed in celeebration - happy days

Have a look on TV if you recorded it. Crowd shots showed Blades stood up encouraging the team, most of the shots of ours showed people sat down. There is one after we scored one of our goals where about a dozen of ours were jumping up and down celebrating and all around them people are just sat. It seems to be more of an issue withnus than others. When Sunderland were there even the media commentatedvhow good it was to see a gamevwithnan atmosphere like former days with everyone stood up backing their team.Seems some others think the same . Here is a couple of quotes from CI .


I can only assume, if the s/f is anything to go by, that the majority of our fans actually prefer sitting down.
Our group stood and attracted 'a few' who wanted to do the same. However the looks and moans of the majority, 'the silent majority' made it very clear which side of the fence they stood, or rather sat.
This was also reflected in the lack of joining in of most of our efforts to get behind the team.
A poor showing up of how the new fans are passionless and will make the KC an even more quiet arena.
I just hope for the FINAL we can get a better response.

There were people complaining in 501 but it wasn't about standing, it was about drunk cretins pushing people over. Some of them were just an embarrassment to the club.

Only negative on an otherwise cracking day.
 
Great day out! Set off at half 6, started drinking at half six on a minibus that sounded f**ked, tried to sneak some city memorabilia onto a shef utd bus, nearly pissed myself before we got to the torch. Had a laugh at the landlord trying to unblock the troff with a mop handle. Spoke to lots of friendly blade fans. Moved blocks so we could stand, hugged many random city fans, Watched a great second half display, celebrated way too much......what a great day.


Only downside was seeing some of our fans fighting among each other.

Got to agree about some w**kers two couples sat behind us kept poking the backs of some young lads on our row telling them to sit down even tho everyone around us was stood up.In the end one of the lads dads had enough and asked what was the problem and stop poking his kid. One of the woman's husband said its the wife's first game and she wants to watch the game with that tom scores everyone went mental apart from them they just stood there not even clapping

Wow really Castro? I half expected a "well at least you'll be able to go in Dec" comment off you, even though she doesn't stop me, but to have a clear dig at my missus who unlike you, who is basing your views on the tele and CI, was at the game.

I couldn't have given the ticket away by the time my dad told me he wouldn't be able to make it due to to health reasons, so I took my wife with me. It's not like we'd sold out so she was taking up a "real fans" spot either.

She knew the names of a fair few of our players, and once she put a face to the name, she was absolutely unrecognisable as a newb at a game. She stood up, she shouted, she sang and she didn't want to leave at the end.

That is what Chazz, as you well know, is pointing out is bad form, even for you.

What yesterday actually showed me is, those people who DID go, and there was around 27k of us, are pretty much one. We might disagree on the odd thing, but we are still Ull. Doesn't matter in some ways what happens off the field, it's a distraction, even with all the huffing and puffing. What matters is WE ARE ULL. Noone can take that away from us.

After yesterday and seeing the game through my missus's eyes, I've decided to just move away from the Anti CTWD/Pro Allam stuff, what will be will be, and I know that will bother some of you but what the hell, who cares. We're staying up and we're going to be in our first ever FA Cup final, and if we win it, the most amazing thing is, next season, we'll be in........THE CHARITY SHIELD!! We might need a new trophy cabinet at this rate!

Finally, it wasn't a day out in London, it was a trip to Wembley to see Hull City play in a Semi. You should have tried it. As it is, you've made yourself look very petty and small without anyone elses help.

Actually HT I wasn't having a go at you. It was a general observation. I said before the game that a consequence of giving 2 tickets to some would result in those tickets going to people who don't normally go to games and they would be the sort who would be moaning about people stood up.
Seems your wife enjoyed it so good for her.

As for me not being there I had a ticket. If you knew why I wasn't there you wouldn't have posted such smug remarks. The reason I wasn't there will mean I will miss the Arsenal game on Sunday and possibly even the final depending on specialist's report on Tuesday. My ticket did go to a long term fan. Another one will benefit from me not being at any other games.
 
One ironic thing about standing. On this weekend at Liverpool, where a campaign group is actively against the introduction of safe standing the whole of the Kop stood for the whole game.

If you were at the front people would have their view blocked if you stood up. I was in front row in the area they gave to corporates and wives this time at the play off final and there was lots of tutting and moaning when anyone stood up. Unbelieveable but some wanted to remain seated even when the players came over after the game.

Everybody behind me stood up, to my right, they were sat down, no one seemed to be bothered about anything. Sorry to hear about your reasons for not being there, but in the context of my OP, then your reply, and our "history", it's hardly surprising both me and Chazz interpreted the way we did.

One thing that might make you laugh. 2 very polite young men asked if we minded if a banner was tied directly in front of us. "Go ahead" we said. Was quite big, and after they'd tied it down, my missus said "what's it say?", at this point, I thought to myself "Oh, that looks like it could be a City Til We Die banner...this could be slightly funny if I'm in a ****e load of photos with that". I peered over and it was the "Fanatics" one from the East Stand. I'll admit to a small sigh of relief and a chuckle.
 
Yesterday wasn't about anything other than the game. The day was brilliant. 5 of us set off and on the train more southern tigers joined us, great banter. On to Wembley Way and we where perhaps a little early.
The Crystal Club provided a great pre-match meet up (Thanks Fez), but it was mental in there at the end. When the You Tube of the table game gets put up, people will see what I mean.
First half was shocking and although the flaskers where out in numbers (we had a problem with complainers whenever we stood up as well Chazz) In the end we turned a corner and everyone was buzzing.
Great day out, great finish to a game, great to be a member of the tiger nation.
