Doubt whether Ashley would stump up the wages for a decent manager tbh and what decent manager would want to come to us after the way Ashley goes about his business. Lets face it, as long as we finish 17th or above Ashley is happy as he gets the tv money and continued free worldwide advertisements for his company. Forget any cup competitions its getting to 17th position for as little outlay as possible.

 

sad truth..and being the supporters we are we cant force him out as were too loyal to boycott matches to hit the fat twat where it hurts..in his pocket

 

I've defended him a lot, and don't think its all down to him, but I think he's crossed a threshold now from which there is no way back. Once you alienate the local press its very difficult to turn it around and I could well see him gone in the summer.

It's been said already, how are Leicester, Bournemouth, Wigan, etc., all capable of playing players in position and playing decent football, yet our entire squad has to be twisted and turned into something barely resembling a football team by this utterly moronic clown.

Derek Lambias was a yes man but he got rid of him. I believe Ashley does want the club to be successful, he just expects it to be successful using the same methods he used to become successful in business. If he feels that someone else could be more successful given the same resources I am sure he will want that person in. There is a massive difference in money made for each position in the league now and he will want as much of that as possible.

I think he may well know that the tide has turned against Pardew too much to come back.

 

He isn't going anywhere mate. Not unless we have an insanely **** start next season. He will get one more win this season - sheer luck against either Cardiff or Swansea and he will make out its some sort of amazing result. Even if we lost the next four games conceding plus 12 goals in the process (which could easily happen - I reckon Arsenal and Liverpool are going to massacre us) he would still keep his job.

 

Out but look lets get realistic here, Leonardo or Laudrup are not coming to work for Ashley. Leonardo probably wouldn't even be interested if we had a good owner. These guys know you need budgets and top players to work with. We have neither. We need to look at realistic options which are those closer to home. Maybe taking a risk on someone like Eddie Howe as Roland suggested, or Jackie McNamara at Dundee United. Someone who will work with no money but still try to deliver attacking modern football.

 

I think people need to be careful what they wish for. There are a lot of very average managers being mentioned to replace pardew. I agree he now needs to go but we need the right person to replace him.

 

See, part of our problem here is Ashley - and I don't mean that in stating the obvious! What I mean is Ashley has always appointed based on his own personal relationships, and the advice thereof. Wise, Jimenez, Llambias, Kinnear, Pardew - personal mates, patsy's. Is he likely to break this monotony by suddenly taking an interest in getting Rosler from Whelan? Even the personal satisfaction of getting one over his old rival probably doesn't matter, as he's only interested in "trust". However, I think what he's discovered is that his "trust" only goes so far. Joe was sacked, and all we did is shoehorn the operations guy into the MD role. We didn't recruit, too risky in Ashley's tiny mind. Pardew will now leave - this is too much, the wave of discontent is now more threatening and I don't know that Ashley has the stomach for that kind of fight. He's now on the board, so is a touch more accountable. So what will happen is utterly obvious, in my mind - Beardsley will be the next manager. He has already come out in direct support of the owner, would appease the masses in swathes and is aware of the constraints that would apply. Recruiting then to replace Beardo/Donachie is a cheap and simple task that can be taken by Beardo and Charnley.

I don't know when this will happen, but it's where my money's going.

 

We have to realistic though, the "right" managers wouldn't want to work here, its a cack job. The board is ****, the budgets non existent, hell even some of support is a bit moronic and loses the plot at the first sign of trouble. I think we are basically looking at taking a gamble and hope to find some uncut diamond. Yeah Rosler is the one I'd risk.

 

I agree here, Beardo's support of the owner is unwavering. He is most likely. A risk I'd be comfortable with too. **** it, I don't care.

 

He walked didn't he? That was the problem, a 'yes man' finally realised he had another option and took it...

When a bloke like that displays more dignity than Pardew ever will it's a sad indictment!

 

I'd most want Rosler, I think he's the next big thing, the next Martinez/Rodgers, has German steel to add to his utter professionalism. However, unless he owns a pub in Totteridge or once worked in Maidenhead at a certain Sports shop, he won't be arriving - hell, Ashley would have to actually talk to someone in an interview. So that's out.

The fact that an "outsider" won't get the job means any list is pointless. Hence Beardsley.

 

You don't get more "yes" than Kinnear, and he was directly sacked.

 

I think he walked because instead of sacking him, Ashley bypassed him by getting in JFK. To put Pardew in the same position would mean getting someone new in to pick the team and leave the coaching to Pardew.
