I suppose you're right, whilst there's more important issues it would improve the depth of the squad. It kind of depends on Tavernier's development as he could possibly fit into that role

The reason I'd like a CB is to show we're improving. Surely having Williamson as 4th choice rather than 3rd says we're getting better. We conceded too many goals last season, IMO. If we can get a solid defence going, whilst continuing with our attacking game, we could finish very very well

I think we'd be fine with Kadar as 4th choice, Colo rarely gets injured and Williamson only seems to get arm injuries so could wear a cast if we really needed him. Worst comes to worst we could get someone like One Size on loan as emergency cover.

Yes, and you may want to check your own spelling and grammar if you're going to be childish enough to comment on anyone else's, if the above is anything to go by.

EDIT: re the OP, I wouldn't say no to a CB but I think we have greater priorities, as mentioned on here a number of times already.

I considered Simpson to be our weak link at the back last season, not any of our centre backs. I'd rather we found a better RB before looking at the CB situation. Although I do agree that we could do with improving on Saylor and Williamson if we want to build towards european football.

Would like to see Kadar given a chance though.

If we signed another CB then Saylor could play RB?

I wouldnt want that, he seems to think he's Dani Alves when playing RB.

Not for me. Saylor had a nightmare in that position last season and isn't anywhere near as good as Simmo in that position.

god no, sign a right back and keep him in the middle

I think CB can be grouped with GK and CM in that we have more than adequate depth in comparison to other areas of our squad; areas that we should be looking to strengthen first (ST/FB/RW)

LOL so your citicising me for being a cynical cock while also being a cynical cock yourself, you should treat humility with humility, not berate it.

Alan Hutton isn't happy at Spurs is he? Had a bit of a ding dong with ol' floppy chops I seem to remember.

I'd like us to get another quality CB the same standard as colo or better, taylor showed good form the last few weeks of the season but will he sustain it? I just think getting someone of a higher standard is the way to move forward and push up the league.
totally agree with getting a new RB as well.

Puyol for Saylor to grease the gears for the long awaited Shola/Messi swap?

Zapata would be a great signing, also plays RB with ease, would give alot more options at the back. Doubt he would want to come here though, but maybe if we were able to get rid of Smith/Perch and Xisco's we could tempt him with a massive wage packet. (Don't burst my bubble with the salary cap talk!)

Would much rather we just signed one more striker and one centre back/right back than two strikers.

Sorry chap but imagine the finger is the wage cap if you will and the bubble represents your dreams...

Another thought, our strongest team next season looks like it will only have 3 Englishmen, so I'd be in no rush to move on Saylor or Simpson (that and the fact that I rate them both).

    HaHa!

@ Smudger, don't think we should get rid of S.Taylor or Simpson either, but S.Taylor was out for alot of last season as was Kadar if we get into the same situation again it only takes a litle knock for Willo to pick up or Colo returning to his 2008 form for us to need another CB!
