Not brilliant, but at least I'll have the small consolation that you budgies will be relegated as well this season!
I was going to respond with something about Col U, then I realised that I don't know where you are in the league, or who your manager is, or who any of your players are, or anything about you actually. Let me just check.... Yep, it's 2014!
Because I watched enough of the 12 months before that and heard/read enough on both here and various websites, soccer Saturday etc. That ok with you Russell?
More Mikey more don`t hold back baby FACT us like we never been Facted before...... This is Gold-dust
I posted this on our board. I really hope for your sake you stay up. "A BIG mistake, IMHO. 3 months ago, with time left to sort out the season would have been understandable. But a handful of unwinnable games from the end of the season? Why?! Hughton may not have done well in the Premiership, but look at the fantastic job he did at Newcastle, winning the Championship in their first season down. What Norwich need now is a manager with the proven ability to drag a team straight back up from the Championship in their inevitable first season down. Now who has the credentials for that job? Seriously, it's like slashing your tyres because you have a puncture!"
I take your point, but Aidy Boothroyd and Phil Brown have proven track records of getting sides up to the Premier league, but I wouldn't have either top of my list in the Champ.
Why my friend? Because we can`t score goals make subs score or even equalize if the inevitable happens and we concede. It`s like getting out of your broken vehicle and walking to the petrol station, at least we are doing something other than sitting in a car that doesn`t work.
there is no doubt we are at the bottom of a descending wedge and something had to give, i feel the crowds reaction yesterday is what has really forced the issue, yes the game was bad but the atmosphere was horrendous, and the reaction at the end which almost saw our very own players fighting with the fans was enough for the board. They are only trying to save their own arses as well as the clubs, maybe its in their thinking that we are going down and no reaction by them would have put them in much worse situation if we do. I cannot understand the logic behind it as we would have had to have gone on our worst unbeaten run this season 7 games to not stand a chance of staying up, thats with no draws in that run either, (I feel one win and draw will keep us safe) I do not go with the thinking that we are playing top teams either, we are already written off for the last four games and as we all know football is not predictable especially in the last few games of the season. I just didnt see us losing them all under CH as historically he has form when the chips are down. I just think this appointment has a hint bryan gunn written all over it and is done more to appease the fans than think about the real affect its going to have on the whole group.
You'll be reacquainted with the lower leagues once again sooner rather than later given your latest managerial activities!
And look at the players and money they had at their disposal too. Its no wonder he got them up so easily. Half of our team won't stay if we go down and will likely jump ship to newly promoted teams or go back to Europe. So us next season compared to Newcastle from 4 years ago isn't really the same thing.
"antiquated [an-ti-kwey-tid] adjective 1. continued from, resembling, or adhering to the past; old-fashioned: antiquated attitudes. 2. no longer used; obsolete or obsolescent: The spinning wheel is an antiquated machine. 3. aged; old: " Thanks, Mike
It just smacks of delusion. Hughton would have been exactly what you needed for the 2014/15 season. Someone at your club thinks you're going to win your last few games and stay in the Prem. I really hope (for your sake) they're right. I've had enough experience of watching a club run by people who know **** all about football - I've been an Ipswich Town season ticket holder for years! Best of luck for the run-in.
Mike you would absolutely love Colchester to play Liverpool Man U Chelsea & Arsenal in a mini Champions Lg end to the season, if we pull it off then we can actually have something to celebrate rather than a boring mid table finish against boring sides. They will make a movie about this one day.
