And he was doing such a good job too...;)

Maybe the 'new manager' effect will give you lot a boost, as it often does, you only need it for the Fulham match and you'll be pretty much home and dry.

Whilst I'm delighted, it is a stupid time to do it as far as I'm concerned.

We're clearly hoping for a di Canio style push at the end of the season

    Round about now <ok>

This is a real gamble which I don't think needed to be made.

There is more risk attached to this than potential gain.

I think he would have kept you up and you could have fired him in the summer.

Now you're back in the cauldron.

We just need that shot in the arm to get us over the line.

    Very risky though.

Incredibly risky because I really can't see Neil Adams giving us that shot in the arm.

    Prove me wrong, Neil.

I think this is it in a nutshell. If we can get some kind of reaction resulting in 3 points against Fulham, it'll have gone a long, long way to securing our survival for another season. We didn't look like getting 3 points under Hughton, so this is the last roll of the dice.

I think this is purely a firefighting measure, Adams' has 5 games, and short of winning the lot he won't be in charge next season. It wouldn't surprise me if the board already start investigating and even interviewing potential managers for next season very shortly.

Well, McNally pretty much already said that had a list of potential candidates months ago.

As many have stated above, timing is awful. This should have either happened months ago or not at all. Board have got a lot to answer for when you think it through. I suppose after Saturdays debacle it was a matter of time but we will have to wait and see how it pans out now.

But harsh to say Gunn mark two though. Let's get behind him for a last push and rebuild for next year whatever league we are in.

    OTBC!

Three points is all it needs to yeald.
It was a very necessary move as I said yesterday a win win scenario. The board smelt the coffee on Saturday when CH was turned on by the crowd. Had we not have had such a hard final four games I don't think they'd have pulled the trigger. This move is ALL about Fulham.

After yesterdays performance, the chances of getting anything from the Fulham game with Hughton were practically nil.

Didn't Gunn mark his debut with a 4-0 win against Barnsley? (Or something similar)

I'd take that next weekend. Even if we then lost every other game under Adams 10-0.

We were in the cauldron before and after this. Hughton had no chance of getting anything from our last games (although I doubt Adams will fare any better)

We have Fulham, Liverpool, Chelsea, Man U and Arsenal so we're probably ****ed regardless.

He was a very attack minded player & has been very attack minded as a coach.
He knows the club inside out & will fire the players up for Saturday.
I'm sure he'll be telling them that they owe CH & his staff & get them right up for Fulham.
