Danger - Yeah I know what you mean, looks like it'll be an interesting summer with regards to his future. Personally, I think it'd be good business to sell him, Pitman will outscore him next year IMO. EH - I wasn't saying he was worth £35m! Just a comparison of his potential. At the moment your squad is good, however, it is not good enough to walk the league. Given some top quality signings then you may well have a better chance of going up but until then i'd have thought we'd both be looking at a top ten finish. Next season is going to be extremely tight, I wouldn't be sure of promotion at any club! I genuinely do think we'd be doing great to get him sold and invest in a CM, LB and RB then we'll have a real chance of top 6. It's just that I think our owner will be stubborn and keep him unless a very high offer comes in.
Why would Maynard choose Leicester, nice place, medium club, not the biggest in the midlands,he joined us from Crewe,so he knows all about you,he's reported to have had Newcastle,Everton,Wolves,Fulham,WBA even Liverpool giving him the once over.. You keep throwing up Sven as a draw but to a lot of us he's a gentleman but a complete waste of space, once again no offence to you boys. I don't think he'll step sideways to Leicester unless you meet the required figure and pay fabulous wages.
I know you weren't, but then again Carroll wasn't worth that much either I'd actually go as far as to say our squad is poor at the moment, we have a little over 10 players good enough for it, and few good enough for the first 11. Don't get me wrong I am not getting over-confident of our chances at the moment. However we have been led to believe that we have quite a bit of cash and Sven's best strength will always be his charm and pulling power (and I mean that in more ways than one if you get me ) Therefore we have reason to believe that we should be fancied for next season. I have no idea whether we will be willing to throw the amount of cash at you that's acceptable but I do know we could afford to. I certainly hope we do because I would be very optimistic about next season with a player like Maynard with us. You're very right the Championship will be tight, unpredictable and exciting as it always is. Plenty of teams seem to fancy themselves. I'm just desperate for these next 7 weeks to fly by because the withdrawal symptoms are really kickiing in now! Good luck for the coming season
I don't think he'll step sideways to Leicester unless you meet the required figure and pay fabulous wages -- Which we will. 2m will be the required fee to prise him away from Bristol and if we wanted to we could quadruple his wages so that isnt an issue.
EH I totally agree, cannot wait for the start of the season! Tried watching the u21s but it's just not the same. I do think you'll be in with a good chance if sven can bring the right players in. I think Nicky's probably on about 10k a week or something like that. Saying that you guys really should be looking at Nicky Hunt, he's played in the prem you know.. I think we're paying something like 14k a week for that sack of ****e. Please buy him. Good luck next year too!
I don't even get that, we've cancelled the Sky Sports channels (except news) because it's not worth paying for them with no 'competitive' football on (not my choice) And is that the Nicky Hunt who used to play for Bolton? Got to agree there, he is ****e!
Maynard will not be joining you it is the prem or he stays with us.I would seriously look else where, you will not be signing him he ain't going to take a sideways move believe me.
Leicester>Bristol We have alot better chance then Bristol. According to the bookies its a 3 horse race. Us, West Ham and Birmingham. Bristol havent got the history, training ground, stadium, fan base, ambition, money, attraction that we have. I would say Bristol city are only slightly bigger then Bristol Rovers. So god knows how you think its a sideways move. And before you say same divison ect. Saying that moving from Wigan to Man U is a sideways move
You obviously are Leeds in disguise, big club mentality or what, seriously you want to talk stadium brand new staite of the art going up,our very wealthy chairman Steve Lansdown is in the top fourty richest in the country,I suppose we see you behind forest, derby,Villa, blues in the midlands my friend.for the record you will not get Maynard facts I'm am aware off unless you can blow the four or five prem teams in for him.
Whats the point having the money if you not going to spend it. Prem clubs arent going to pay 5M for a player with 1 year left on his contract and a bad injury record. If Maynard wants to sign for us that will lower his value aswell
Proud - I would not spend any more of your time with Red and his brizzol waffle we will see in the next few weeks where Maynard see's his future? I guess it will not be with a small club in the south west.
EH - I couldn't afford them myself, luckily my girlfriend's family have the whole sky sports package so just blag watching it round there Yeah it's the same guy, that's what I hold against Coppell the most! The tool gave him a two year deal and he seems content to just sit in our reserves and pick up his pay check. Can't wait til we get shot of him and find a better use for his wages.
I think Proud was stating that as far as our chances go, on paper, it would appear that LCFC are regarded as having a better shot. http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/championship/promotion Now yes they are just bookies and often are wrong. However its their business not to be wrong the majority of the time otherwise gambling wouldnt make much sense as an enterprise. LCFC range from 2:1 to 7:1 on to win the league outright BCFC range from 11:1 to 16:1 to win outwright. Now i love Bristol City and spent 2 great year sliving their. I managed to secure a rent overlooking the suspension bridge for £350/month which was an absolute bargain. Shame all the pubs round there charged £4 a pint, i.e white horse. So i have a soft spot for BC, however: The disposable money available to Sven is well recorded. The biggest statement from our Thai chairman was that Sven had a limitless warchest to gain promotion next year. Now add the fact we paid the Yak nearly £50K a week last year then you can see we have a superior spending capacity. As for the players each club can attract then I would have said it even for both clubs if Coppell was still in charge, i.e Mr D James. But with Mr Millen the transfer market, as far as big names goes, is yet untested. We have been linked with Given to Beckham last year: now obviously neither are realistic but the fact that Sven has approached both shows a clear intent to lure to big names. So I donât think there is any arrogance on our fans part: it simply appears that on paper we may just be edging the stakes this pre-season.
