Controversy over dismal refereeing in France tonight according to Jon Marks:

Jon Marks ‏@jonmarks72 26m
Incredible scenes in France tonight. Chateauroux equalise in last minute of injury time but should have been disallowed. Caen refuse to play

Jon Marks ‏@jonmarks72 27m
Chaos for over 15 minutes as referee changes his decision at least twice. Caen refuse to play with replays clearly showing handball.

Jon Marks ‏@jonmarks72 26m
Caen players even show referee mobile phone footage of handball! Two benches clash, Caen plead for Chateauroux boss to intervene, he refuses

Jon Marks ‏@jonmarks72 24m
Wouldn't be surprised if result is overturned or match is replayed. But for now it#s ended Caen 1 Chateauroux 1 in Ligue 2. Incredible!

Seems as if the ref totally lost the plot from the reports here. He gave the goal, then cancelled it, then allowed.it. The standard of refs is just as bad here as in the championship, but there is not so much at stake when it comes to the money.

So following the result tonight I should expect a dodgy draw for the Horns tomorrow. ;)

This is the handball. Any ref could have missed that one. <doh>

Morning all, there is a nip in the air this morning and rain or hail forecast for this afternoon.

Today is election day when we vote for our local council. Eleven names for seven seats, so I hope that number 7 & 8 don't get the same number of votes or we will have to return next Sunday for another vote. Last time we voted for this council just about everyone who could did vote, about 95% of the population, so rather different to my days on the parish council when anything over 60% was thought to be good. Some of the local farmers have displeased me for several reasons, so they will not be getting a vote from me.

After the civic duty I am off to a 70th birthday bash at a village hall. Food and drink goes without saying and a local band will be providing the music. Whenever such an event takes place it is good to see the French and English getting along so well. It rather disproves the theory that the locals don't like us, but most of that seems to come from sections of the British press.

Snow, damn it ever since I changed tyres its been cold and miserable apart from when I've not been here. Oh well I guess the weather is reflecting our season.. fizzling out in a cold chill...

We've had everything here - just drove 10 miles to Tescos during which time it snowed, turned to rain, turned into the mother of a hail storm, high wind - when I came back out after shopping the sun was shining & it was so warm I had to take my coat off...

Sounds like all you need is the thunder and lightning they had yesterday in Chittagong and you've had the lot. Here it's been generally sunny with a stiff breeze with the exception of some showers late last night.

evening all, just back from the Watford Palace theatre...a real treat! Adam Levanthal hosting with guests Sean Dyche (who is a really amazing bloke btw), Aidy Boothroyd and Luther. A great fun evening, with a lot of giggles, a few truths and Luther's golden boot. I loved it! I highly recommend the next one to anyone who might be thinking of going. Very well done to all involved!

Good morning all from a chilly but dry Weston-super-Mare! Off to nursey later on for a change of dressing on my poorly leg that I injured in a fall <yikes> I wouldn't mind but there was no alcohol involved! <steam>

Have a good day! <ok>

Morning all, bright and warm in this part of the country.

Yesterday's election was a bit of a turn up for the books. Our mayor and his deputy finished joint 7th so there will have to be another vote next Sunday unless one of them withdraws. The anti farmer vote seems to have had an effect. ;)

Is the vote against the farmers from the town people who have moved to rural France?

No I don't believe that is the case. There is a big row about wind turbines in the area with farmers signing up to have them on their land. People who have lived here all their lives do not want them and there have been meetings about them where it has been standing room only. I went to one meeting in the next commune and the mayor stood up to support the installation of them. He also is a farmer. Yesterday he finished up bottom of the poll there.

Beautiful cold day here and I wish I were on the Scottish hills skiing because the snow cover looks incredible with fresh falls. When I retire I can utilise days like this and just go.
