Didn't say Roosevelt was a socialist. But he certainly wasn't any sort of fascist. More likely a believer in the American Dream, but one who saw the limitations of laissez faire capitalism.

Competition has been shown to be useful up to a certain point, and no further, but cooperation, which is what we must strive for today, begins where competition leaves off.
