Had a personall tour of a micro brewery in Maesteg S.Wales last year - he is turning out some great tasting beers but sadly he moves onto other flavour on a 4 weekly basis - Their Cherry Stout was the nuts
Marks and Spencers have a varied and interesting range of ales Brewed for them - always worth a look when passing. I think they have a Belgian range too
The Duval museum in Brugge is worth a visit - i think its a museum , its on the main square overlooking the big Gothic tower who name i forget

That German one in Polar Bear is pretty good. Expensive though as I found out that night. Not the drink but what happened later.

I was in Belgium 2 weeks ago.
Knocked back some Jupiler and Leffe, which are quite standard over there, and a house-brewed beer in this tiny little pub down a hidden alley called Gaare.
Brought myself a mix of beers back, including Kwak and various others. The weakest one was 6%, average about 8.5%. Strong stuff.
Pave on Princes Ave have an American beer I've been drinking; Anchor Steam Beer, try it, I really like it.
Is it Sam smiths from somewhere near York? Possibly one of the best beers I've ever tasted.
On lagers there are lots of nice ones, it's all down to what your doing, hot summers day a nice almost ice cold pint of peroni goes down a treat, a night out and sinking a skin full, your bloated after a couple pints of real beer so later again takes precedence. Just having a nice drink or two then the real beer obviously takes precedence.
Carling and fosters is vole piss and manufactured to suit the dregs of society who yearn to make themselves look more middle class; ie they're trendy with a proper branded lager rather than all their mates with say asda's own Dutch lager, and is ****e. Carlsberg is even worse, proper flashy tramp gear.
It's from Tadcaster and it is indeed a good pint, though I think they stopped doing Museum Ale, which was my favourite.

Oranjeboom brewed in Holland is a really good drink. You can still find it. Used to sell it on draught in
King Edward a few years ago.
No, more a case of getting on the last train home, falling asleep and ending back in Hull and having to wake the wife up at 2am because I needed £40 to pay for a taxi.
Larkin's Bar on Newland has a good range of Belgian beers and German Pils
But best Beer range iv found locally is in a restaurant Henry Yeast and Son , again on Newland Ave
That is a magical experience of gormet Flemish/ French food and a Beer menu of its own of Beers from the Belgian / French border
Iv traveled well around Holland , Belgium , Germany , and France ..all watching football and eating, drinking and cultural exploring
Iv watched PSV, Club Brugge , Standard Liege, Valenciennes, Lille , FC Köln, FC Schalke, BVB Dortmund
Next on the list is PSG , Bordeaux, and Saint Ãtienne all the time fine dining and Beer and wine tasting are right behind the Football.

Reading this thread in Tablerock Brewing in Boise, Idaho. Drinking thier Imperial Red, abv 10.3%. $5 a pint. Bloody gorgeous.
Those strong beers are ****ing vile. Anything north of 6% the ethanol taste starts overpowering the nice beery flavour
Not this one. It was hoppy and fulfilling. Moved down the street to Prefunk. Now enjoying Woodland Make it Hoppen IPA.
See if you can get Ovila up there Oregon. Its hard to find unless you are near the monestary here in Cali but it is by far the best beer I have ever had.
We once brought a load of 15% odd stuff back from Belgium, I think it was called killabitch, or something like that. 2 bottles and you were on your arse.
