I thought if a player was sold without asking to be then he was entitled to have his contract paid up.

if this is the case AA would lose significantly more money if he were to sell our better players, they are the ones on the bigger salaries

£40k a week with 2 years left on a contract would be £4.16m. They'd lose a **** load.

A player only gets his contract paid up if it's cancelled, or if it's part of a deal where he accepts lower wages at a new club.

Normally, when a player moves the new club start paying his wages and the selling club just get the fee, there's no additional money to be paid to the player.

Cheers for the clarification.

I consider the Allams equal with Harold N our best owners ever .

If the FA say yes or no I hope the Allams Stay .

Don't CTWD also have no problem with the Allams apart from the name change ?

I'm amazed to see the animosity towards AA. No matter how petty and anti-football his name change proposal is, he still saved our bacon and more. Completely gobsmacked to see how some have painted him.

I don't think anyone would have the feelings they do towards him if he had just tried to change the name. It has been his complete contempt for fans that has been upsetting for many. The things that he has said are generally patronising, arrogant, and unfounded in the opinion of many fans.

So he's a 70 + year old, pig-headed, patronising fool. Like the majority of the members on here.

He still did far more positive than negative at this present time.

I wonder that if they got offered the stadium then this name change nonsense would just go away. I don't know enough about it but maybe the council could re-think their policy about this for the greater good and let them have it. I do know that the name change is not needed or necessary and support all attempts to stop it. Again I don't know enough about the Allams dealings with the council and vice-versa but there is a way out there maybe if some politicians and businessmen can swallow a bit of pride? As it stands for me we would be better off without them even if it hurt us a bit initially but if they want to recover their money then it seems like they can't just walk away.

Why should the Council just give them the stadium.

He has brought that on himself. Where have you been, have you not listened to his rants, threats and lies.

I'm not saying they should just give him it, but they could sell it to him at a stupid low price as it's costing them too much money. Money that would be better spent in saving the likes of Ennerdale and the parks etc.

End game approaches now. A reasonable enough letter form Ehab but nothing different to what has already been said. So the Allams lose the vote, what happens next? Will it be a pyrrhic victory?
As accountants there will be an exit strategy in mind. Who will or can buy us? There is no other local investor so are we at the mercy of a foreign investor with a questionable past and financially unstable future?

Will the Allams put us up for sale and slowly sell off, drip by drip, the playing staff. Hudd and a few others in the summer, with no credible replacements. I would imagine it will take a few years to recoup their money but they arent going away without it. Once they get their money they can sell at a reasonable price. Either way they will be stay away owners.

So what next for City?

I don't know why you have such faith in AA's 'exit strategy', Chazzman. It's my guess he'll make it up in a similar cack-handed way he has made up his name-change case (and its execution/delivery).

I think they expected the fans to put pressure on the council to do this when the name change was originally muted. Now I think there's too much pride involved.

Personally I'm not sure I'd trust them with the ground at this point. I was glad when the council kept hold of the ground and at this point I still am.

The stadium doesn't cost the council a penny. The SMC is solely responsible for its upkeep.

Personally I think that a trait. I'd rather know he'd speak his mind and say anything he might have to say than be all smiles on the outside but staring daggers on the inside, like I guess 99.99% of other owners and managers etc.

Were all big boys we can take a little bit of lip surely? We all certainly think we're big enough to dish it out, because Allam receives by far worse than he's dished out. Is that fair? Sort of voids the argument people are making whilst trying to sit their high horse on the moral ground.

"Allam called me a hooligan, he's a stupid, lying, deceitful, manipulating, senile old twat and I'm taking the moral high ground because he's called me names waa waa waa"

Doesn't wash.
