If you did that to a client, you'd be gone. Footballers get away with it because they are notoriously thick as pigshit. They get a ban and massive fine instead, intelligence, at least in traditional measurement, is not required... But of a manager and tactician? Who wants a thick as pigshit boss?

Football players don't get massive fines for handbags, Remy was banned for 3 games I don't remember any massive fine, standard red card action, what about the player who goes in 2 footed and breaks their opponents leg how does that stack up, Roy Keane comes to mind and yet he was allowed to manage teams and still would be allowed to. Football is about opponents not clients, it's a battle and some of the things that went on during the match today were physically worse than Pardew's actions, the referee got a few things wrong and missed some totally.

Or rather a passionate man who sometimes oversteps the mark. He is not the first and won't be the last. Football is not like the real world so it is pointless keep bringing up mine or your workplace. Otherwise there would be assault charges levelled every week. Ice Hockey and Rugby would have to basically be cancelled. And he is a master tactician, at least label him correctly if you intend to slander his good name. <laugh I seem to remember SAF attacking his own employee with a boot.

The point is. HE SHOULD BE SACKED. Not that he would be. You've basically agreed with me <ok>

Footballers and managers don't live in the real world, and that should be derided as pathetic, rather than used as an excuse for ****ty behaviour <ok>

They aren't f***ing gladiators <laugh><laugh><laugh> They're their to play football, not fight <ok>

And fines can be levelled internally by the club for sendings off, or by the FA as an additional punishment, which may or may not be communicated by the club. I'd very much expect either Remy or Newcastle lost out financially after the sending off...

I can't believe the thuggish nature of some of the pro-Pardew comments here!

Britain is such a Nanny state, Pardew pushed before he was shoved.

Former professionals are asking for him to be sacked! Robbie Savage being one of them! That rancid little scrotum consistently dived, and tried to injure people throughout his career. He is truly a vile little man and he wants Pardew sacked! And Gary f**kin' Lineker. A man who has firmly had his balls ripped from his f**king body, probably from working with the PC clean BBC for so long 'Am I allowed to say bum?'. All we need next is Alan Shearer to come out and say how he "let the fans down" everyone needs to stop and see it for what it is.

The Hull player, initiated the issue, Pardew and him locked heads and he pushed him with it. He didn't, "headbutt" him. Christ, is that a headbutt in this country now?

Further note: If you want to watch someone do something REALLY reckless in football, I suggest you look at De Jong break Ben Arfa's leg. Not even a fine.

So you basically want all forms of sport to be governed by normal workplace rules? i.e. you want to end sport? No I disagree with this idea completely. I say we use common sense, accept that the demands placed upon them leads to heightened adrenalin levels which leads to the odd unsavoury incident. We contain it within the individual sports, don't be set of wet blankets and crack on. I like sport.

You're an animal, you know that right?! <laugh>

There's not an ounce of civility in that cranium. Serious question, and you better f***ing answer it. Sir Bobby wasn't a sportsman then? Because he didn't go around aggressively head-pushing people like a, and I'm being kind to Pards here, a mentally deficient shaved gorilla.... If you think acting professionally is the death of sport, then you can't have it both ways and say Sir Bob was a sportsman.

You can show passion, and you can get angry, but striking people is f***ing deplorable. And I'm the c*** for wanting players and staff to have some common deceny?

This is like the 5th/6th incident our backroom staff or Pards has been involved in. NOT ****ING GOOD ENOUGH.

But I didn't say he used his head to push him over, they locked heads and he pushed his back with his. He didn't push his body, but pushed the opposing persons head away by using his. He didn't do it to give the guy a black eye or bust his nose did he? Is that what you get when looking at that? The intent to really physically harm the individual? Or do you see a man pushing someones head with his own? Look at it with the red and white filter off. <ok>

So are you suggesting SAF wasn't a sportsman? As I recalled earlier I remember Sir Bobby going head to head with an official when we got turned over 4-2 off Spurs. Gets to the best of them. I still consider Sir Bobby a sportsman.

You need to remember sport affects managers, some as gentile as Sir Bob, in strange ways at times. Pards simply has more of these incidents. He didn't strike anyone <ok>

No Hacky, he didn't lock heads with the Ref. He physically assaulted him. Is there anyway we can still get Robson to serve time for that? I feel its a crime which is yet to be answered for.

My take, I think Pardew will be lucky to escape a criminal conviction for a viscous account of assault. He could have seriously hurt Meyler and indeed he was lucky to escape unharmed.

Mindless acts of violence like today's outrageous scenes have no place on a football pitch, especially not from a manager representing a club.

Disgraceful, I bet you lot are embarrassed.

Well done on the result though, no doubt we shot ourselves in the foot somewhat but you were the better side and were clinical when pouncing on the mistakes you forced us in to. No complaints on the result, the best team won. Remy is a real handful as well, are you likely to hang on to him after this season?
