I think the First Division of childhood biscuits (no PL then) would be:

1. Club
2. Viscount (I've excluded Yo-Yos which were basically the same thing)
3. Tunnocks caramel wafers
4. Jaffa Cakes
5. Snowballs
6. Penguins
7. Taxi
8. Breakaway
9. Wagon Wheels
10. Chocolate Digestives
11. Garibaldi
12. United
13. Blue Riband
14. Trio
15. Bourbon Creams
16. Pink Wafers
17. Happy Faces
18. Custard Creams
19. Nice
20. Ginger Nuts (relegated by Xmas)

Rich Tea and plain digestives were non league!

Couldn't get any of those when I was a kid (wartime rationing). I was about 7 or 8 before I knew the luxury of a Penguin. They were threepence each & much bigger.

Golly.I can remember when sweets came off ration and I went across Lordship Lane very, very young and buying a stick of barley sugar at Dickey Bird's sweet shop. How I didn't get run over I shall never know!!!!

No Jammy Dodgers???

There's absolutely no way custard creams would be in a relegation battle, luke!!

Rich Tea and Plain digestives are a bit like wet weather tyres on an F1 racing car. Absolutely useless when dry but are tops when wet. Top of the league for dunking.

Which club? Orange or raisin and biscuit? And where is Kit Kat on your list?

Jammy Dodgers deserve a mention - but lower mid table for me. Anyone remember any other chocolate coated ones? I forgot Drifter and Waifa. There were also biscuits called Rondello in the '70s, but I can't remember them.

Kit Kat should really be included with chocolate bars - speaking of which:

First Division
1. Twix
2. Bounty
3. Kit Kat
4. Flake
5. Crunchie
6. Fruit & Nut
7. Yorkie
8. Munchies
9. Curlywurly
10. Rolo
11. Aero
12. Maltesers
13. Double Decker
14. Marathan
15. Mars
16. Wispa
17. Turkish Delight
18. Smarties
19. Caramel
20. Spiro
21. Ripple
22. Buttons

Second Division
1. Old Jamaica
2. Topic
3. Picnic
4. Dairy Milk
5. Lion Bar
6. Whole Nut
7. Nutty
8. Galaxy Bar
9. Toffee Crisp
10. Cabana
11. Caramac
12. Texan
13. Fry's Chocolate Cream
14. Milky Way
15. Dairy Crunch
16. Banjo
17. Star Bar
18. Milky Bar
19. Bitz
20. Golden Cup

OMG, I must be bored.

What about Boost, Amazin Raisin, Bar Six, Dime, Ruffle, Snack, M&Ms, Mint Cracknel and Terry's Chocolate Orange <yikes>?

The British like chocolate!

Star Bar in division 2?! Jeez Luke, you're having a MARE!! <laugh>

What about a boost? (for those who aren't keen on peanut and chocolate?) - that's pretty much the same as a star bar and should definitely be in the first division!

No mention of a chomp either!

Galaxy Caramel?

As Roo said, a poor contribution. For instance you missed this star from the 70s

Also Curly Wurly and Turkish Delight are league 2 level at best

Well done Stoke.I had to go on the Arsenal board to laugh at them for their retorts last week. What comes around, comes around.

I see manager Pardew was watching the Vert incident and got in a naughty head butt on the Hull Player!Never seen that before.I wonder what the FA will do to a head butting manager? Give him a wrestling contract?

Pardew should be sacked and kicked out of the league, best thing that could happen to Newcastle in a long time!

"OMG, I must be bored."

How in hell did you remember Old Jamaica, Cabana and Nutty bars !!??
You have just unlocked my 70s kid, as I have just recalled Freddo bars. :D

Jamesons Raspberry Ruffles (bias here as their factory was just up the road
from me at Willoboughy Lane / Brantwood Rd - some folks on my estate worked
there too) ??

Old Jamaica's still going I think. Cabana's were like bounty inside but had pieces of dried fruit attached, which wasn't pleasant and Nutty bars had the nuts on the outside - so both were memorable. When you look at the list, most of the favourites are still going strong. As are Freddos!

I also forgot Treets, Poppets, Toblerone, Fudge, 5-4-3-2-1 and Mintola!

Some kids in my time used to say Cabana looked like something that had passed thru a parrot. :)
I used to like Poppets. Nutty bars were basically a pile of peanuts thrown at a stick of molten toffee.

So strange that in a decade of general industrial uselessness and lack of creativity, the 70s
choccy industry was anything but. If only they could have had Cadburys building cars and planes.
