I love the South West, we holidayed there too largely because me ma refused to ever get on a plane.
It's their iconography, what they stand for that gets me. They are a constant reminder of the have and have nots, and a messgae to everyone in Britain that no matter how hard you work you can never be regarded as an equal to the so called upper classes. I just despise the inequity of it, at least in Canada and Oz you can rise to the top.
Apart from that i'm sure some of them are decent people, I just don't like having to pay for them

I don't see the point in independence any more.
It seems to have been hijacked by Plastics who think that voting Yes will mean the English will leave occupied Ireland.
The Scotch Independence movement don't have the right motives for wanting to break up the Union, I'd be all for it if it meant that the future Scotch government placed the nations ambition, wealth and success above subsidising spare bedrooms for unemployed sausage jockeys.
The SNP's decision to nationalise a loss making regional airport (Prestwick) in one of the most sparsely popuulated areas Europe because it would lead to job losses is just an example of some of the crazy decisions that would probably be undertaken by successive Labour and Socialist governments that the spasticated Scottish populace would elect.

I see where you're coming from. But for me they're an irrelevance I don't give much, if any, thought to. If an independent Scotland kept them figuratively (as Oz and Canada do) do we pay for them? I dunno. I don't know if Oz or Canada contribute any cash to their upkeep.
