Tonight's team

Harper, Elmo, Chezzy, Davies, Figueroa, Koren, Livermore, Meyler, Aluko, Fryatt, Sagbo

Bloody strong side, we should batter them.

4-5-1 with Sagbo left wing and Aluko playing off Fryatt. Surely those players would play better in a 4-4-2 with Sagbo up front, he's a big target man and a work horse, he's been ****e every time he plays on the wing.

I don't get why Aluko doesn't play wide more. When he runs at people he's good. When he plays up front he's still good, but he spends 90% of his time receiving it with his back to goal and struggling to find the space to turn.

Precisely, and Sagbo is an out and out big man striker, he's ****e on the wing, don't get why Brucey keeps playing him there, specially when there's 2 perfectly good left wingers on the bench and one playing centrally. Borderline moronic in my humble opinion, but let's see how it goes. Aluko is certainly better central than wide, I just don't see why we don't play Boyd or Quinn there instead if he wants to play Aluko down the middle. It's almost as if Sagbo is only there to make up the numbers.

I'd agree Aluko can do more from the wing, when he likes to drop so deep to get the ball.

Has a 451 been confirmed? Seems to me that team would be better suited to a 442.

Harper
Elmo Chester Davies Figueroa
Koren Meyler Livermore Aluko
Sagbo Fryatt

(Neither Koren or Meyler really suited to playing out wide but Meyler the tougher of the two in the middle. Probably.)

Bruce was on the radio talking to Burnsey half hour ago and confirmed its 4-5-1, didn't stop ITV putting us as a 4-3-3 with Aluko on the right wing <doh>

Odds are insane for a city win. I've gone on us -2 at 6/1, couldn't turn it down

I think he's got the makings of a good inside forward in a 443.

Well, Bruce tends not to overcomplicate what he says. By 5 midfielders he might include anyone not playing as a striker so it could play as more of a 4231...

Harper
Elmo Chester Davies Figueroa
Meyler Livermore
Koren Aluko Sagbo
Fryatt

Still 5 midfielders and 1 striker so technically a 451 in traditional terms, but it includes Sagbo on the left and Aluko behind Fryatt. Some would also call that a 433 with Aluko, Meyler and Livermore as the midfield and Koren/Sagbo being counted as forwards.

I'm sure it'll play quite fluidly however they line up, anyhow.

Lol at other commentator making the point to point out the contentious nature of calling us Hull City Tigers.

Crowd looks bigger than I expected, maybe down to the fact west upper is closed, so people are packed in the other stands rather than being peppered about with an extra stand.
