Wikipedia disagrees.

The European Union (EU) is an economic and political union of 28 member states that are located primarily in Europe

Apparently you're talking ****e, through and through.

The EU is a loose federation of states who have been gradually moving towards some form of political union. That political union is far from complete, and the appetite for it varies wildly from state to state.

The Eurozone is a currency union, involving some but not all of the EU member states. They use the same currency (the Euro) throughout the zone. However, each state within the Eurozone has it's own government passing it's own laws, setting it's own budgets and raising it's own taxes. Not by any stretch of the imiganation is this a full political union.

You do realise that the Europarean Union and the Eurozone are not the same thing? Cos that's sort of the whole point, and might explain why you missed it.

Nothing at all, you can call it what you want. You can put the queen's head on it, or Sean Connery's if you ****ing want. That misses the point completely.

The issue is not the currency. The issue is the currency union. Recent events in the Eurozone illustrate how difficult it is to have a currency union without political union. So the sterling you use north of the border will not neccessarily have parity with the pound we use south of it.

So they all decided to just adopt the euro aye? out of thin air? no political agreement was entered before they decided to do away with all their national currencies?

<rofl>

As if I give a **** what you think.

Aberdeen and the North East have been horrendousluy under funded by Holyrood and that is a fact.

**** them.

SNP are no better than Westminster.

Agreed, totally.

But I'd rather be run by ****s from the Central Belt of Scotland than a bunch of pasty Eton ****-buddies.

Out of curiosity, how is Aberdeen under funded? I've always thought Aberdeen done alright considering its position.

And if it is surely that is because the ******s that run the council are stupid enough to pay millions of pounds to move across a road.

You only have to look at the works funded by Holyrood in Glasgow & Edinburgh then compare them to Aberdeen.

The council are useless ****ers as well but that doesn't excuse the lack of investment by the government.

Well that just shows what a thick unemployed **** you are.

It's a fact and was shown so yesterday with Holyrood official figures.

Stupid ignorant drug addled waste of space.

Come back when you have an argument you dim witted ****tard.

It was the current Westminster government that made me change from a no to a yes on independence.

Bunch of spineless self-serving rich ****s.

There's no arguing with that. Although I'm sure an independent Scotland will suffer no shortage of self serving rich ****s of it's own.

If we promised to give you loads of money for regeneration and turn you into the Texas of europe would you agree for Aberdeen on its own to stay in the union? I'm sure if you and i agree on it we can swing it with the powers that be!

Surely you can appreciate that Aberdeen gets a lot of private funding though?

I mean, I don't really know or care if Aberdeen is underfunded by government but surely that's mitigated a lot by the private investment?

Aye but we don't generally vote for those types as freely as the English.

You're more likely to get ahead in Scottish politics as a reactionary working class type.

How does Edinburgh get money from Holyrood then by that logic? They have huge private investment also.

There is a clear Central Belt bias in Holyrood. I'm not just talking about Aberdeen either, what have the Highlands & Islands been given as a major investment?

Still waiting on an A9 & A96 upgrade while the M8 gets another one and ****ing useless ****y trams in Tweetown
