Would be incredibly surprised if Real Madrid hired Pochettino on the back of guiding Southampton to mid table and they're hardly noted for their long term thinking on appointments. I can understand clubs slightly lower in the pecking order making a move.
I think we'll all rest a little easier if Pochettino signs a new contract and that has to be top priority for Katharina between now and the end of the season. Certainly our recent performances and Pochettinos mood in recent press conferences suggests he is still focused on the job in hand.

Tbh, Mauricio was always going to be on any European list. However, I can't see any Galacticos playing to his system. That's too much like hard work.

Why would the fact that it's "Franco's old team" make a difference to anyone under the age of 80? Especially someone who isn't even Spanish.
Re: Atletico, they have a good manager and a very good striker in Diego Costa. I don't see them staying there though, sadly.
Real Madrid are widely seen as the team of the privileged elite, in a country that still bears the scars of civil war and dictatorship. Mauricio will know this.
Maybe by hardcore Barcelona fans. I don't think it's as important as all that, and I certainly wouldn't imagine Pochettino (or anyone else for that matter) would turn them down for that reason.
If you read the article in the program recently on MP, he is very much embedded in the Barcelona area. His kids speak the various dialects and although I understand fully and agree with your "no-one would turn Real down" thought, if he's good enough for them, he will be good enough for virtually anyone and could almost pick his club.
Swansea are currently three points off tenth. And three points off the relegation zone. If all the managers who could be in the relegation three in two or three weeks were sacked, everyone below Mauricio would have to go.
