Just listening to lunchtime football focus on Radio 5, Alan Green once again said that Yorkshire desperately need a Premiership team. He went on to say sorry to the Sheffield clubs but it his choice is Leeds, they are a big club with good supporters and should be back up.
A short while later they apologised saying they realised that Hull City were in the Premiership and it was an over site by Green. While the apology was being read out Green was laughing in the background.

Just watched MOTD2 on BBC, think it must have been the same bloke on there (Irish guy). He said the same thing about Leeds being the biggest club in Yorkshire and apologised to Sheffield. I was shouting at the TV "what about Hull City". It this ridiculous old label of "Humberside". Hate it.

I know he's not everyones cup of tea but I don't mind him as a commentator. He has opinions, he's not bland which I think makes his commentaries more interesting than some others.

He's some overweight northern irish **** who gets his kicks from getting people's backs up. Seems to have a bizarre affinity with Leeds United. He'll probably have a **** live on air if they get back to the Premier League before he carks it.
He said because he commentated on them in the semi final of the Champions league he has an emotional attachment to them, then said the Premiership needed a Yorkshire team in it and apologised to Sheffield that it shouldn't be them as Leeds are the much bigger club. I considered getting angry and throwing me radio out of the car window but that would have left a hole in me consul. So instead I laughed and sang part of this Morrissey song to me self.

The first ever football game I got for PS1 was called 'Olympic Soccer' - on the box it said "Real commentary from radio's Alan Green!" haha.
It was brilliant, totally stereotypical made-up names for all the countries players, e.g. Irish players were all called things like McDougal and O'Neill.
