Cabaye LATEST: Reports emerging in France that the fee is at £19m for #PSG-#NUFC #Cabaye deal, we cannot confirm

Can't blame the club for selling, cant blame Cabaye for going. Deal suits everyone. Massive test of that buffoon Kinnear now, 3 says to sign 2 players, minimum.

Reality is we can wait on cabayes long term replacement until the summer, but we need somebody else to add attacking impetus and to appease the fans as much as anything. Let's see if the most inactive director of football in the league can actually sort something out. Won't be easy to haggle if people know we have money.

PSG and Newcastle agree transfer fee (25-30M€) for Yohan #Cabaye , subject to medical, according to SSN. #PSG #NUFC

£20-£25million. I prefer this guys take.

We need to keep perspective. The track record is that when we have sold big we have invested and improved the team. The negative soundbites are easy when we lose a favourite player, and it hurts me to see him go, but as with AC we need to judge this sale with the benefit of hindsight.

No official fee will be given. It's probably nearer 25m but the club will report it as anything from 15m-25m as we want the clubs that we wish to buy off to believe we're not loaded with cash.

Great player, great memories (some bad ones too) and he leaves at a good time. We're not in danger of relegation etc.

Hopefully the club put the funds to good use and in this window.

Supposedly been in negotiations for di Jong for appox 3 weeks so finding a replacement in 3 days for cabaye I'm not holding out much hope ! Especially with our director of football !

We might well find that Plan A was to keep Cabaye, but knowing that it was very possible that he would go (size of offer v summer buy out clause v keeping unhappy player), and now that Plan A has gone we may well find out that Plan B is already in place ready to be implemented. Wishful thinking perhaps, but possible.

Fingers crossed mate I hope your right

Reckon there's any chance of a farewell performance tomorrow to atone for his antics in the summer? Seems unlikely as it looks like everything is in place for things to be wrapped up sharpish, and I wouldn't be surprised if he is already in Paris as we speak, but it would be nice to see him sign off with a win and maybe a goal. (Although I suppose technically he did...)

Not unless the medical is at Carrow Road as he's booked in for that tomorrow :(

On a separate note, events like tonight go to prove why the twitterverse could do with a massive cull. Some of the reactions are an embarrassment. I've even seen some saying we'll struggle to stay up now. They should have some sort of intelligence test before some people are allowed to press send!!
