Adrian Chiles confirmed as the ITV anchor for the World Cup coverage. Here's hoping he gets knocked out in the group stage. Literally.

Well depends on the laptop. If I can find a good laptop cheaper on a site than I could at somewhere like PC World, then I don't mind paying a bit more.

You'll be fine. I lived up that way at around the same age. There's lots going on and it's a pleasant enough place to live. Mind the rugger buggers with the upturned collars down Fulham Palace Road and you'll be fine.

Go to quidco.co.uk. Register. Then search for Dell business and click on the "latitude 10% cashback" link. That'll take you to the Dell site and you'll get 10% back from Quidco on the sale. Might get the price to something you like. It's Dell's year end on Friday so they are doing some good deals.

Then always use Quidco as your first point of call when you're about to buy anything to see if there's cashback available - cashback deals can be astounding. We've had about £100 a year back from them since we joined £429 in total. For nothing.

I'm not anything to do with either Quidco or Dell, btw.

If you're willing to pay upwards of £400, there's no better site than this: http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/laptop-computers/

People tend to get ripped off for laptops because of the way they're produced. The components are made by various companies and then sold to a "manufacturer" like Toshiba or Acer who basically just put the parts in casing with their name slapped on it, then they sell that to a high street retailer who then sells it to you. You ideally want to cut out those middle men. That website is the next best thing from putting the components together yourself and equivalents of those laptops would be a lot more expensive anywhere else.

If your budget is under £400 then you might be better off going second hand, or you could do a TSS and try and build one out of second hand parts. Probably quite tricky though.

Back in the early 1990's, I lived at least 24 hours away from my family. It was the best thing that happened to me at the time. You'll grow.
