Game was over wasn't it? Wait, was I supposed to hang around all night on message boards...? Dang, musta missed the trend that made spending late nights on internet an exciting lifestyle. Muh bad.

Since we are being so pedantic, the shoot out didnt end until about 10.25ish.

Just seemed quite suspect that you weren't around after we got back into the game.

And its what all the cool kids do.

Well done to the Sunderland players! Good result against an awful Man Utd. It's something nice for the fans to look forward to in what has been a shocker of a season, and I just hope the ones who go enjoy the experience, whatever the outcome.

I work with a few Mackems, who I didn't actually realise were Mackems (I wonder why they don't usually talk football........ <whistle>) until I saw their massive grins today.

Mate, you're the one tracking my movements, I couldn't say what time it was. I finished watching the match, congratulated the winner and went about my evening routine with the lady-friend. Call me old-fashioned?

Go back to your thread, I left a 'well done sunderland" and switched off.

It would be sods law if we Sunderland qualified for Europe for the 1st time since 1973 and our 1st game was against you lot..<laugh>

I thought it was last held in 1971, then it was the UEFA cup?

So how did you qualify if not by winning something?

Not being awkward Indy, but not sure what you're asking?

It was last held in 1971 when it became the UEFA Cup. The qualification rules for the 1972 UEFA Cup were the same as the last 4 years of The Fairs Cup, except that more than one team from the same city could now qualify for Europe. You qualified by league placing, unless you were the cup holders in which case you automatically qualified like we did in 69/70.

everyone seems to be forgetting that we are the one and only winners of the intertoto cup

Kept the old tea lady in a job.
