People worry about his attitude and all that but I think BR has shown he can manage that with Sturridge and his apparent attitude problems, Sterling and his off-field issues, oh and some guy Suarez who has gotten into a wee bit of trouble. <ok>

Exactly, Rodgers has shown on more than one occasion (like you say) that he is an excellent man manager. What other manager could have dealt with Suarez like he did??

M'Vila will be fine with Rodgers to direct him forward. Plus the fact his best mate Sakho will help him settle in England. Saying that Sakho seems like he's a right character, in a good way though - just a joker, so who knows!!

Of course we need to sign him first <laugh>

who would he replace if we got him and what would the 3 midfield players be?

Haha good question!

He plays the Lucas role, so it would make us very strong in that position. I have noticed he's slightly more offensive than Lucas in that he always looks for the forward pass and can spray the ball around nicely - also has a powerful shot and isn't afraid to have a pop.

He's quality though, so him and Lucas would be great competition for each other, if BR chooses to play him there.

For that reason I personally wish we were in for a real box to box midfielder.

Matic to Chelsea looks likely for around EUR 35m. Incredible - they bought Luiz for around 25m PLUS Matic, and now buying him back at that price.

Either way, their central midfield will look formidable!
And they'll still play like **** under Mourinho <ok>

Pogba, Fernandinho, and Yaya??? Fook me playstation is coming to real life!
But they'll still be bossed by Hendo, Allen and Lucas. Big names and big fees don't always represent big performances.

M'Vila for 10mill would be a steal and another potentially quality but bargain player a la Coutinho and Sturridge. Even Sakho at 17mill looks like the real deal if he can keep on improving and might eventually be considered a bargain if he's here for a long time. Trust BR

Same thoughts, thats why I would like Lucas, M'villa and Henderson, if we play 4-3-3.
However with Sturridge coming back in, who knows, as I am sure we will see Coutinho move back infield too!

The difference is Fernandinho and Yaya are already imo the best midfield partnership in the PL by some distance, so it's no major change. Plus to be honest Pogba would have so much competition to cement a place <ok>

It's good that bringing in one more player (and having people returning from injury) would give us so many options. Lucas, M'Villa and Hendo would be a great combination, but that would leave Coutinho, Gerrard, Sterling (who's been playing really well), Suarez and Sturridge for the last three. Even Allen works well in a midfield three who all have the energy to press and move so you could argue he should keep his spot.

On paper they are.

In practice, they drift in and out of games and fail to even be noticed in some - like against us. City's dominance comes from Silva and Aguero dropping deep, or even Nasri who's been playing well this season. Well, that's what I see anyway. I've always considered Yaya to be hugely over rated. Very good player, but not some super human monster controlling the game that people make him out to be.

Why would we try and get M'vila on loan?

****ing hate loans <doh> just buy the ****er.

Well Sahin looked to be the next best thing, good job he was a loan. Plus Moses is a sack of ****e so thank **** he's not ours, same with Cissokho.

I disagree. When Fernandinho first joined I was unsure what exactly his role was, but recently he has been immense, and is excellent. Also for me (without question) Yaya is the best midfielder in PL, the guy is a monster and can play in any role in midfield.

The two compliment each other perfectly. On paper I would be looking at perhaps two of the Chelsea boys, or two of the Arsenal boys.

if the player is good enough when they come here they will get rewarded with a fat contract any way from helping us get cl football, so in their interest to perform and help us whilst on loan, if not good enough we can send the ****a back and not have any more Downings,Cole,Carroll etc not wanting to go any where.

I've read that M'Vila has calmed down considerably since moving to Russia, becoming a father and the realisation that he has the potential to become world class. Kept his head down for the past year ...

My risk for his signing would be that after playing in the Russian league for the past year, he is probably only at 70-80% of what he was back in France. Hopefully, he can get his career back on track at LFC.

Fernandinho has grown into his role as DM and it's coincided with Man City's new found consistency.

I'm not a fan of Yaya - don;t get me wrong, on his day he is unplayable. But I think he can quite lazy however he will one powerful run and that;s all people will remember.

Now, if M'Vila were to sign, he would displace Lucas as the DM/Shield.

have we signed anyone?

fernandinho is not a DM is is a holding or deep lying midfielder. he contributes too much positively to be called just defensive... though yaya just wanders off so he has to stay more.

now m'vila probably fills my criteria.. he is better than what we have.

Casillas hasn't played a league game in a year now.

You'd think he'd be on the move, especially with WC coming and Valdes, Reina, De Gea, Lopez all getting regular football.

Casillas and Valdes will be interesting in the summer. Valdes is leaving Barca and Casillas needs to play...... but where do they go? City? BVB? Anywhere else? One of the milans or Juve to replace Buffon?

I reckon Arsenal could go in for Casillas ...

Ya forgot about Arsenal! Ya one of those two there but then you think about the other top teams and everyone is pretty much sorted! the milan teams could be a good spot, or at least AC but they are in the dumps at the moment.

AC are terrible! What is going on over there?? Reckon they have a few decent players we could nick ...

Ownership problems and scandals, bankrupt, got rid of older players but did not really replace them, sold off their two best players to pay said debt ( Ibra and Silva), etc.

Just a shambles, we have been there though, very similar situation really.
