I hope he is. It's just that, as a follower of English football, when his name was mentioned, my immediate thoughts were "Hang on - after a good start, I remember him hitting a massive drought with Everton. A drought that he hasn't really pulled out of." A quick check of the facts backed this up.

As I said though, I have faith in SB, I'll be delighted to be proved wrong, and the lad will have my full support when he pulls the City shirt on.

He had a drought last season. This season you can write off because of who is starting in front of him. Still, last season he had 7 goals in his drought. That is more than any of our strikers by far. Our top striker is on pace to have 4 goals this season.

I think he's a great signing for a newly promoted team, fair play and well in.

Ignore Tobes he's obviously a bit pissed off one of his strikers has been sold, and now they're so heavily reliant on someone who's simply on loan <ok>

Haha I'm sure the word on Jela from some stoned Irish armchair kopite is more valid than a season ticket holding Evertonian who's seen him since the day he arrived

Bruce's record on signings so far has been near perfect.

I'll listen to him over you if i'm honest.

On strikers?

Proschwitz, Graham, Sagbo, Gedo... Haven't really set the world alight.

Tobes (another evertonian) just pretty much backed up what I was told.

Impressive run when he first came made him look far better than he is, he doesn't really offer anything and he's just ****. He was that bad Victor Anichebe had to take his place FFS.

I'll go with what I hear from people who see him week in week out, but if others on here would rather judge him off Wikipedia and 30 seconds on match of the day each week, feel free <ok>

I just hope we don't have to spend another £5m hiring Sherlock Holmes to catch the thieves....

It wasn't journalists they were having to talk to, it was people at WBA getting pissed off with us because they thought we'd given the story to the press to unsettle him before we'd agreed a deal with them.

"Hello, is that West Brom? It didn't come from our end." Done. How many people from West Brom called for it to last 'half the morning'?

I wouldn't walk up to a mechanic and say "listen mate, I know youve done this for 15 years and i know nowt about your job but I've seen cars being driven and you don't want to fix them like that, you want to do it like this."

Irish??

I've been called many things Tobes but never ****ing Irish!

I suppose all the time on here and the old bbc 606 on the city page for years is just a cover up of my true love for rangers.. all the memorabilia and posts on rangers forums, just backs that up..

I hate celtic but so do most people, and I don't support rangers but I like them, they're in a different league system/country and will never pose a threat to city, their crumbling has helped us gain a couple of good players too so I'm glad the triple demotion happened

I like salmon but I'd always choose curry if I had the choice, like is a minor word

Nothing wrong with liking a team in another country. I have season tickets at Ibrox, but City always come first, I go their games whenever I can barring work commitments which means I go to most of the away games and what people would class as the less attractive games that a lot DON'T!

We could end up with an attack of Jelavic, Long, Sagbo, Aluko, Graham. It never works out like that with us but still that would be amazing.

Can you imagine Jela and Long up forward with Sagbo sitting in behind, and Aluko to come off the bench with his pace? My god.

Are we in a position to sign one of the Premier Leagues current top scorers ?

It appears to me that it would take just that to please some of the clueless buffoons on here.

If Jelavic was on top form we wouldn't stand a chance of getting him, fact is he's has a dip in form which gives us the opportunity to sign a clinical finisher, albeit for a fair amount by our standards.

These are the calculated risks Bruce is paid to make a decision on.

If it comes off we could have a very tasty finisher on our hands.

Just who do people want us to go for?

Great signing if it comes off IMO.
