If it's to be believed, this is the 2nd highly regarded defender to turn us down... Are we trying to bite off more than we can chew?
No, we're trying our luck with a big step up in class. One of them will pay off, I've no doubt.

well we certainly have ambition. what about a cheeky bid for Puyol?
And Pirlo would give us options as a CAM eh Max ?
I'd prefer Totti myself.

i think so, he'd be ok in a 'quarterback' role for usAnd Pirlo would give us options as a CAM eh Max ?

If that's true, we must have some serious cash available 10 million euros is a big chunk for someone, would that be more than wolfswinkel?
Also CH must see centre back as a place for serious investment / improvement
I may be wrong but I think that in Italy the transfer figure also includes wages? I heard that somewhere can someone advise?
ah now i think about it, we've come across this from the italian press before, I think they wrap the value of the new contract into the term 'Deal' so it could be say €6m and €4m paid to the player over 3 years. I have no idea but i wouldn't be surprised.
I seem to recall that from Quagliarella rumours as well.
As for bids for top players, I'd guess that CH is trying to find another RvW type player who's willing to forego the Champions League to use City as a stepping stone to one of the top four clubs.

Breaking: Athletico Madrid have made a bid for Juan Mata.

Maybe, can't see many CL clubs trying to get RVW though.

You say that, but I think he'd actually fit in really well at Arsenal. If they'd been in this position 12 months ago (needing a striker and in the hunt for the title), it wouldn't surprise me if they'd brought in RvW as back-up to Giroud. Like Giroud his hold-up play is better than you'd expect, and his excellent touch, movement and finishing would have worked nicely with the Arsenal midfield. Whilst they could have had him for £8m last January, I think now we'd hold them to ransom and want nearer £15m+, for which they'd be better looking at Jackson Martinez, etc. But I do honestly think RvW could have done a job for Arsenal.
That's what I'd always thought about Thomas Hitzlsperger!![]()
Kevin De Bruyne to Wolfsburg is meant to be an £11m deal. Almost disappointed he wants to go back to Germany, we could just about have stretched to that...
