The key difference between these two matches is that Ruddy had a bit of a shocker (I think we should have been beaten about 4-0, which still is pretty comprehensive...) whereas Adrian had a bit of a blinder - three top drawer saves - and could really only have done anything better for one of the goals.

bloody hell I know he's good, but with Bayern Munich's squad even I would do OK!

I'm surprised Wenger is paid so much, not that he's probably not worth it though.

Not surprised that Redknapp is way overpaid...

Lippi and Del Bosque are the real outliers for me. Lippi's managing in a tin-pot league but on huge pay, whilst the manager who has led Spain to 2 European Championships and a World Cup only just makes the list.

Stop living in the past my friend. He has gone, finished, over the hill. He realised that 18 months ago when he started engineering a move back to Cumbria. However we got £2m out of Wigan for him I will never know. They might as well cut their losses at the end of the season and let him finish his career with a couple of years at Carlisle - the correct level for him now.

i was a bit shocked when i heard that holty story, he's been unlucky with injuries. maybe he doesn't fit into the style that rosler wants to play. he probably needs a run of games to get his confidence back. would be amusing if he ends up on loan at 'boro or bournemouth with the other ex-canaries, or even millwall with morrison

He made a good assist for one of Wigan's goals the other day, he did get subbed off after 50 off minutes though

He's played that 20 odd games but has only, in terms of minutes, managed about 10. So with injuries all over the place and Wigan not firing, he's hardly done badly and I'd be very surprised. I'm pretty sure that Rosler came out just a few weeks ago saying he had full confidence that Holt would get back up to speed.

His season has been a kind of mirror-image of the four he spent with us - as in it generally took him a few games to get going with us, but with Wigan he scored on his debut and has been gradually getting worse since.

    That would be amusing!

He left us to be closer to his family up north, fancy then being loaned out to South London or a South Coast club! He! He!

According to Wiki, Holt's played 14 games (11 in the league) and scored 2 goals.

That's out of date - he's played 16 games in the league now, and five in cups

CH: "We are working hard on trying to bring players in. You have to make the right decisions to bring in the right players."

Players, plural? Or me reading too much into an innocent sentence?

Maybe, DH, or he may just mean that more than one player is being looked at.

Less good news from Paddy Davitt: "CH dead-batted my q has Wes or his rep asked to leave the club. All those chats remain private but the common word was 'contracted'"

I remember causing a furore two or three years ago by saying that I would rather build a team round Henri Lansbury than Wes Hoolahan. I've seen no reason since then to retract. Let's get someone in who can deliver on a consistent basis and let the Nearly Man wind his career down elsewhere. <ok>

That article spells it out quite clearly, IMO.

Robbie - I would have to agree with you on that. Lansbury certainly has an eye for a pass and I would also think more goals in him. I think he could provide the sort of service that Hooper would thrive on.

Saying that, I am not sure that he would have been good if we kept him when he was with us, I would like to see us aiming higher now.
