Of course they would improve us this season. It's patently obvious.

Lallana comes in and plays in a position that Ryan Giggs, forty year old Ryan Giggs, has been occupying and gives competition to/replaces Tom Cleverley.

Shaw/Baines come in and give a breather too/ultimately replace Patrice Evra who is having to play every game because we've got no one else is good enough in his position.

    Team improved in a flash.

Fellaini may yet prove himself good enough to move into squad A once he gets fit and has a decent run but Kagawa has had that chance and proved himself to be not up to it. When required to step up to the plate he has failed every time and makes excuses for not being able to.

By the way, the only person to use the term 'save our season' is you.

We hope so too Eric <whistle>

Seriously though it's crazy to sack a manager after 6 months (unless you were flirting with relegation) especially given who he has had to follow into the job. How does a guy follow Fergie and put his own mark on things in such a short space of time? It's madness to expect him to do that and the simple fact is anyone who thought another manager could come in and just carry on the good work is a mentalist. There are only a handful who might have been able to do it short term Maureen being one but he'd have started a rot that would have seen you crippled in the long run. He'd have gnawed away at the soul of the club and the football wouldn't have been any more attractive either.

Moyes might or might not get it right but the quicker you sack him the quicker you go back to being just like everybody else, he deserves time just for having the bottle to follow Fergie. Some of you lot have had it way too good over the last twenty years and need to accept it was always going to be a struggle at first once he retired (especially you UIR....you're starting to sound like a screeching old woman <ok>)

Welcome back to the real world lads.

Then why buy in January at all when players are difficult to get and normally come at a premium price?

The only reasons would be unforeseen injuries or to improve a team for the rest of the season. I'll say it again, players for the future like Shaw might as well wait till at least the summer. Are United really going to spend 20+ million on a back up left back in Jan? And if they do, is it really going to make THAT much difference?

I would never turn against any manager of our team, as booing and getting on the managers back isn't going to help the situation. Fans of clubs like Liverpool and Chelsea behave like that towards there managers, so let's not lower ourselves to there level.

It was always going to be a big ask for whoever followed SAF, so let's give him our support. After all many of our fans were calling for SAFs head all those years ago. Moyes needs time to build a side, and get the club running to how he wants it run.

People say he's taken over the champions, but in someways that's not always a good thing, as the players can become complacent and less motivated to win.

I'm still confident we can get 4th this season though, with a couple of decent signings, and the return of RVP and Rooney to come.

Aslong as we get 4th there will be no damage done, remaining a champions leave club is imperative

Are you being serious about these A and B squads. How can you leave Evra Vidic (although injury prone) in the B squad. In addition to Kagawa (although he plays rubbish for you guys) and Valencia (in real poor form) and Felleini (big fat waste of money) who would probably make the A squads if they played to their abilities.

For City, i don't see how you can put James i run around and work hard Milner, Kolorov who just likes shooting cant defend, Clichy who is an absolute liability in the A squad either. They aren't top players

Honestly? You asked why they aren't classed as A squad and then describe exactly why they aren't in the same sentence? Brilliant.

As for the City players, I'll leave that up to a City fan to tell you his reasons but I for one would love to have Milner in United's squad. And it would be the A squad.

I would agree though that both Evra and Valencia would be included as part of my United 'A' squad.

Ok fair enough. But I would think a club like United would be setting the bar a little higher, especially given the current on field problems. You were courting the likes of Fabregas and Lewandowski in the summer; who would definitely improve you. Lellana and a left back? Not convinced.

If you go back I said for now. As players like Fabregas and Lewandowski are very unlikely to be available in January.

THEN we go for players of that ilk in summer.

I'm just trying to be realistic.

Milner would be a useful squad player for any top side, but he's not a top top player. He's handy to bring on as a sub for a more luxury winger, when your winning a tight game and you need a player who's gonna track back and help you defend a lead:biggrin:

A squad for me is whoever is picked can keep up to the level of performance,Milner never lets us down whether he starts or comes on for 10 mins
From what ive seen of evra & vidic, they are former top class players who are on the downward spiral and while you may get a good performance out of them, they are a weakness

Just my thoughts on it though

So looks like Coentrao seems likely this window. A good start. LB sorted and an option for central midfield when needed.

Its a start ( assuming it goes through ).

What makes you think it's going through. I haven't heard any thing confirming that there's even an interest in it happening so far ?

A fairly reliable journo (ducker) who certainly has links to the club has said we have agreed personal terms with him ( I reckon this was done in the summer or shortly after ). Convincing Madrid to accept the offer is next but it seems they are going in for a LB which adds flames to the fire.

Theres definite interest though as confirmed in the summer. I doubt we just gave up on him. Of course nothings confirmed til hes scored against the scousers.
