Stewie's Corner - The Off-Topic Chat Thread

Cardiff City's Malaysian owner - Vincent Tan - has told manager Malky Mackay to either resign or be sacked !

He is a typical foreign owner - totally ignorant of tradition, past history, etc.

We as a club should know that, look at the past motley collection of foreign owners we have had to endure.

Whether an owner is foreign or not is not the issue imo, as there's plenty of British owners who are corrupt, ignorant of traditions, saddle clubs with debt, leave clubs in financial meltdown, etc. Graham Westley is a good example.

Well, it's not just women. Plenty of men attended the party too, but I only found out yesterday that it was taking place last night but it's such a horrible feeling knowing everyone else is out having fun while you've been excluded from it. It's like high school all over again. I've never really felt part of the team, but I've never felt less part of the team than I did last night. So suddenly I'm not sure I can find the motivation to put the time, effort and money in (hence why I didn't bother posting anything today) and while I was quite looking forward to the Brighton game, now I can't be arsed to travel all that way. Maybe that feeling will pass once the disappointment passes.

I'm quite shocked by this Lapras - that is just such careless behaviour from them. They surely know that you're doing the Facebook page for them? The best thing is to ask someone outright, nicely - face to face is best - just was it an oversight on their part or do they limit their invitations? Sometimes you have to put a marker down, especially as you are such a champion of the Ladies team, they should be more appreciative and actually show it.

I bet Malky Mackay has been in conversation with the Football Manager's Assoc for quite some time - he would have been expecting this, he's going to screw Tan for as much as he can get, as serves him right!!!!

I heard on the radio this morning that Maurice (Saints Argie Manager) reckons that his side do not get awarded penalties by referees, due to the fact they are all young and good looking players

Is he mad ? Has he not seen the ugly mushes on players like Dani Osvaldo or Kelvin Davis ?! <laugh>

He needs to go to Specsavers........

Which brings up an interesting point who is the ugliest bugger in the football league (player) ?

Good question, anti <ok>

In the past, both Peter Beardsley and Robbie Fowler were so butt ugly, they could clear a room of children in seconds.

Nowadays ? Mesut Özil of Arsenal is a strange looking chappy. Any other suggestions anyone ?

The following from the Manchester Evening News made me chuckle........

'Stinky' football fans at Stockport County told to 'have a good wash' in note left on stadium seat
2 Jan 2014 19:06

The note addressed to the "foul" pair read:-

“To the two guys in black leather jackets who have recently started sitting in some of these seats.

“Sorry. There's no way to put this without hurting your feelings, but one or both of you stinks and it is ruining the experience of those around you.

“Many of us are season ticket holders and it is very unfair that we have to spend the best part of two hours every game with a foul smell like this around us.

“Please either have a good wash and change your clothes or go and sit elsewhere.

“Thanks. And yes, it is that bad.”

They do say it's grim up North :D

The game has lost one of its greats.

Eusebio, the pioneering Portuguese striker who ushered in a new era of power to the beautiful game, died of heart failure at his home on Sunday at the age of 71. He was nicknamed “The Black Panther.”

Very sad news <peacedove>

Trouble at t'mill ?............

Chairman Nicola Cortese could leave Southampton over divisions with the club's owner, Katharina Liebherr.

The 45-year-old has yet to make a final decision on his position but some at the club fear he could walk away at the end of the season.

Miss Liebherr became a trustee of Southampton FC after the death of her father Markus in August 2010, but she has no interest in football.

Southampton declined to comment when contacted by the BBC.

Cortese considered his position in May as he attempted to clarify the future position of the club with Miss Liebherr.

He eventually decided to stay after receiving the necessary assurances but this time the fallout is more serious, leading to greater uncertainty about the future. The divisions do not relate to interest from another club.

The former Swiss banker has been a key figure in the Premier League club's rise from the depths of League One.

Last season manager Mauricio Pochettino said he would leave if Cortese departed.

"I would not understand staying in this role if Nicola was not here," Pochettino said. "The person who actually called me from the start, told me about the project and put the faith in me, was Nicola."

Breaking News.............Breaking News..............Breaking News..........

Nicola Cortese has resigned. Katharina Liebherr has named herself as new chairman, and is looking to appoint a new chief executive.

Will Mauricio now quit ? He has previously threatened to leave if Cortese resigned.

Its all gone "belly up" down the road. Foreign owners, eh ?.............
