Jake Livermore scored the only goal of the first half at the Hawthorns. Wonder if he'll move on soon? Probably.
I have just got back from being at this game and I thought Tommy Carroll had little impact. He was playing far too deep and to be most effective, he needs to be playing his football at least 15/20 metres further up the pitch. He did ok, but nothing more than ok. Glad you mentioned Kranjcar as some of his passes were sublime. He still looks as if he is blowing out of his backside after only 2 minutes, but when he is on form, he is still a good player. Both sides will be in the mix at the end of the season. There's nothing pretty about Leicester but they proved if you can keep a good shape at the back for 90 minutes and put in a shift, you will always stand a chance of getting a result.
If Hull win today they will be on 22 points which at this stage of the season, would be a real achievement for them. A big team effort and from what I can gather, Livermore has consistently been one of their best performers.
Yeah, I thought he looked at his best when he was able to get forward, he played a good pass to send Austin through in the first half but I was impressed that he looked very responsible making sure he stayed back when needed. Second half he wasn't very good and was rightly taken off. Got to agree on Kranjcar too, he's certainly not up to charging all over the pitch but it was a typical performance of his, lots of classy touches and passes. I think 1-1 would've been fair and I felt Hoilett should've had a penalty but the commentator disagreed. Wasn't the best game you'll see, the squirrel was probably the highlight! Credit to him he had 23 grown men afraid to approach him, I think they should all hang their heads in shame at taking a whole 5 minutes to get the little animal off the pitch Not sure what the ref was waiting for though, does he think Loftus Road has an animal control team on standby each game?
Livermore has been bloody brilliant for us. He's been one of our top performers this season, top 3 with Thudd and Davies for me. I hope the rumour about Sherwood wanting to recall Livermore if he is made manager is bullshit...
We have allowed Assou-Ekotto to play for QPR at Everton on Saturday in the FAC, but have stopped Little Tommy Carroll from being cup tied. Cue wild celebrations from Boss.
I've mentioned this before, but Tim always thought Livermore had a future at CB. A couple of seasons ago, he frequently played him there.
Right now that could be an easy fix as any more injuries and we would probably have to play Capoue there which means another less player to choose from in the centre of midfield. It's a difficult one but given all the injuries I'd like to see Assou-Ekotto and Livermore back just to make our squad stronger. Even those who don't rate these players must agree that we could do with the the extra numbers. Unless we decide to stick with the youth? Bentaleb and Fredericks have looked good in their cameos. Whether I would want them starting an important premier league match is another thing altogether.
All calm, all calm! Carroll making it to the 1st team has always been on the cards, sure I've sounded like a mad man at times over the past year calling for Carroll to be part of the team but now the man in charge agrees.
Shaquille Coulthirst has joined Leyton Orient on a one month loan, according to various reports. Goes straight into their squad to face Yeovil tomorrow.
