Do you not see they're enticed into the history of the company, and it's manufacturing expertise, rather than "oh it's got a pretty name". What will sell City world wide is beating the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Man Utd. Not a stupid name change. Why do you think you see Barca, Real, Man Utd, Liverpool, Spain, Brazil shirts everywhere? It's because they've won stuff. People want to latch onto that. They don't want to support a team whose won nothing, and whose greatest achievement (to date) is finishing 17th in the premier league. If we have to change our name for investors to come in, they're not worth knowing. They clearly don't give a toss about us. Hull Tigers will be seen through the UK as franchise. Even MK Dons will have more tradition than us, and that's ****in embarrassing.
so as no one can put forward a reason for us to remain Hull City rather than Hull Tigers other than emotive ones and the potential of us tapping the asian markets. I cant see why the name change shouldn't go ahead. You hypocrites won't exactly boycott giving Asshead Allam his money cause you are "supporting the team". PILE OF BOLLOCKS!
The cost of implementing the proposed name change will be far greater than the additional income it will generate.
you're frighteningly patronising. tell me OLM, as you are so against the name change, just how many games are you going to boycott, so you hit Asshole Allam in the pocket?
I will not be there. I'm a plastic football club supporter, only there cos its Hull City, I only support the players cos they wear the shirt, I only like Steve Bruce cos he is our manager at the moment. I'm not there for the glory just for the joy of supporting Hull City. I actually get a little bit disappointed that we lose players when we get promoted. The attraction for me is bound up in the name. Take the City out of Hull City and I doubt that I will go to another live football match again.
I have nothing to gain by being patronising. If the name change goes ahead, I lose out by not having a team to support and giving up something that I enjoy.
My point was more to do with the picking and choosing of source information to suit your cause. The FA will do what they do based on their own agenda, if this poll carries any weight with them then god help us all!
Thanks Ben. I still ain't happy to your admission earlier that you're not really called Ben, nor are you indeed a Sir. I suspect you might not even live in Cheshire now. I feel betrayed, but even though we don't agree on stuff, I think you're alright.
anyone that disagrees with you? you turn verbally abusive. You are really an angry little man aren't you? P.S. watch that blood pressure!
I don't think CTWD has a position on the quality of the Hull Daily Mail. I don't recall us discussing it anyway. The Hull Daily Mail has run a poll and published the results. The results indicate a couple of things, only 3,500 voted and the vast majority were in favour of keeping Hull City in the name. A clear minority voted for Hull City Tigers and Hull Tigers. Many of the comments submitted with the poll by those voting for the name change said I'd prefer to remain Hull City but..... In considering the evidence in support of the name change I would expect them to look at how many are in favour. According to this poll, not many. This interpretation is supported by the three polls undertaken by the OSC. The support for the name change amongst supporters is fairly underwhelming based on this evidence.
You just quoted a post in which I wasn't abusive at all. In your case I'll make an exception though, thick ****.
I am known as Ben, socially & professionally & have been for over 40 years if that helps? Also if I were to divulge my given name you'd understand why I use Ben as an alternative. I awarded myself a knighthood as a protest to highlight it's devaluation when it was suggested that Andy Murray (I think) be knighted.
I wasn't just referring to that post. I was talking about other posts too. You have a very short memory. Getting older must be such a bitch - senility and Alzheimer's
