Another Sky game for us woth a 13.30 kick off. Spurs will be desperate to bounce back after yesterdays mauling so how do we play it? Hopefully we have no new injuriers and Jose is fit to start. Obviously still without Boruc and Vic. If Cllyne and Kelvin are fit should they start or should we stick with Chambers and Gazza? I'll go with Gazza(KD if fit) Chambers Fonte Lovren Shaw Cork Davis Jrod JWP Adam Rickie Subs Cropper/Gazza Jos Maya Gaston Reed Gallagher Dani What do we all think?
Thought from the title we were picking the Spur's team Would have given AVB a break. I'm sure Gazza will play...we have had no proof of life about Davis for some time. Really hope Fonte is back, but wouldn't give up hope with Jos (not Fonte's standard, but he has good games in him). Lallana has to play, so the only question is Lambert or Osvaldo (JRod being a shoo in). I think he will go for Dani.
I can't believe you've left Morgan out Lambie! I'd go: ----------------Gazza------------------- Chambers-----Fonte------Lovren---Shaw -----------Cork--------Schneiderlin------- ----Davis--------Osvaldo--------Lallana---- -----------------Rodriguez------------------- Subs: Cropper, Hooiveld, Targett, Reed, Ward-Prowse, Lambert, Gallagher Rodriguez, our leading scorer, needs to play up top, and Rickie needs a rest. Davis needs to start, and that means JWP has to drop to the bench.
Strong looking side although I'd swap Lambert for Osvaldo. Apart from his goal I think he's been poor. Every week I see comments about him showing improvement but I don't see it. Its beginning to sound like another Ramirez saga; we all want him to succeed, we know he has the ability, its not the lack of effort, but something just isn't working.
He just needs tiome to adjust. They were talking about Spurs on MOTD 2 yesterday and saying it takes a good six months for foreign players to adjust to the pace of the PL, culture change etc. That goal showed what he is cakpable of. He puts a shift in and I think he will be a top player for us.
Well, I've been banging on about Cork playing alongside Schneiderlin all season, I hope they prove me right. It will be a tough game though especially after their Liverpool drubbing.
Gazzaniga, Chambers, Fonte, Lovren, Shaw, Cork, Schneiderlin, Lallana, Davis, Rodriguez, Osvaldo. Great to see Schneiderlin back from injury, team starting to look stronger again, we can definitely get something from this game.
I think the only area he needs to adapt is to recognise that he does not have even half a second to execute whatever decision he has made in this league. Far too often he is dispossessed or fails to deliver on his intended pass/shot/layoff simply as a result of his belief that he has longer than he really has to do something. It's extremely frustrating as it would appear to be so simple to fix. I don't think that comparisons with Ramirez, other than being a new expensive signing are fair. Ramirez quits when he is robbed. That's an entirely different issue.
Clive Allen has been caretaker manager for them recently, so probably him. His record is mixed, been in charge for four matches since 2007 and has won 2 and lost 2.
I think they will be after a big name...MP is still proving himself. And anyway Nicola is holding his children hostage.
I think there will definitely be an enquiry. He'd be perfect to take over that team and the personnel would work for his style well. I'd personally handcuff him to the bench at St Mary's though. As will Cortese I'm sure. It'll probably end up being Capello.
I read earlier that there is a chance Osvaldo could be banned for up to 3 games for his involvemnet in the touchline and post-match fight. Personally I think that would be outrageous but you never know with the FA. Hopefully he is available to start on Sunday.
I think this is extremely unlikely. In other news, I hear Tim Sherwood will be Spurs' caretaker manager, and may even get the job full-time until the end of the season. Would be a brave choice.
Always happy to post good news:- 13:30 Southampton v Spurs:- Referee Chris Foy . Assistants :- P Kirkup & M Wilkes. 4th Official:- P Dowd . On this occasion I make an exception.
