Best news in ages.....get the infrastucture in place and the ground will be full.......these guys do have a vision....who could doubt it now?

Plus it gets people talking about us again and there are not that many sides outside the prem that get as much media time as us.....

UR's

well done to t.f, but I think he had this vision before he bought into rangers, the same way he had the same vision when he went to buy west ham(Olympic stadium) there is no way a business would buy a football club, with a 18k capacity and just leave it at that

Dont relate this to coventrys stadium affair.

They signed a deal to rent a ground with no monies received from food and beverages.

Whoever signed that deal vanished quicker than a south african sign languager

tony fernandes is a businessman - not a plank

Great news, perfect capacity and the height and closeness is better than I could have imagined.

High banked triple tiers is perfect, its square and has some character, the sides and ends are different. Obviously its just a render but it would be great if it looked like that but with a roof.
I just hope money from a hotel/conference centre goes into the club and it will be interesting to see if its owned by us or we are tenants.

Sit down everyone but Im delighted.

Well said Flyer - key here is whether its the club owning the ground. Guess it has to in order for the other income to feed into FFP.

I personally think that this is excellent news. I know that some people may be reluctant to leave Loftus Road (perhaps less so on the forum than other), but change is inevitable. It is only a question of when and by who. This is a a visonary step forward and the plans seem to be very sensible, and robust.

My only regret is that I do not live in NW10 as I used to do. It would have been great to have a short stroll to see the R's in a world class football stadium. Although I love Loftus Road and treat it as some form of "2nd home", I really do look forward to seeing the new stadium. I have every confidence and trust in Tony Fernandes that it will be done correctly. I just hope that by then we will have consolidate a comfortable footing in the Premiership and will be able to dream on...

Are you hoping the supporters come in two by two? :)

Great news all round. I love that the artwork shows a stadium that's similar in feel to LR, with the connection between the fans and the pitch, no 'gentle, sweeping curves' on the corners, and all that. Wonder where P Q & R blocks will be?

Only thing that we need now is naming of the four stands. One surely needs to be The New Loft...

Very original and simple strategy to double our attendence.
Perhaps they should consider building a bigger stadium???

Beard has already said that the football club will be tenants.

If so, tenants of the people who also own the club. Its a business model to maximise the use of the facilities for non football stuff. That way the owners see a return on their investment without taking it out of the club.

And by selling the 'maximise the use of the facilities' aspect, they make it far more likely that planning permission will be granted by the local authority. Makes perfect business sense all round.

Bushman, what you need to appreciate a little more is that TF is a very, very astute businessman who knows how to get the job done properly and profitably. And he is surrounded by similar people as well as good footballing businessmen. This will be done right - that's a given.
