Tell him you'll give it him after he's been up. Then dont give him it. Valuable life lesson for him.

He's been stung with that one before, it was when I offered him a fiver to remove a putrid, decomposing mouse from the garage.
He duly removed it with a spade whilst wearing a pair of goalie gloves, he didn't get a penny.

He might be daft as arseholes but he isn 't that daft that he'd fall for it again.

Anyway he's now decided he can't be arsed and has gone to watch Ferriby instead.

It's all quiet up there at the moment, maybe the beast has left or is it asleep?

I'll keep you posted.

We haven't replaced Strauss and Collingwood. They might not have been flash, but they both steady and great fielders too.

There's few talented youngsters around. Ballance, Bairstow, Taylor and Root will develop in class players.

Broad, Cook, and Bresnan still have loads of cricket left in them.

Any rodent updates? Way more interesting than the fooking cricket is likely to be.

what's the bloody point, suicide apart, of trying to hook your 7th delivery in an ashes game when your team needs to bat two entire days and score 530 runs?

It's back.

Her indoors has moved over to the East Wing for the night to get away from the noisy bastard.

Suppose I'll have to join her at some point.

As for Cook?

What a prick, it's embarrassing.

Some shocking dismissals again, but some guts from Root, Pietersen, Stokes, Prior and Broad.

We will probably be two nil down in the series by lunch tomorrow. We could possibly be condemned to a series defeat if we even lose the toss at Perth in the next Test. We must win the toss and bat and bat well if we have any chance of staying in the series.

Statistic going into the Perth Test. Alastair Cook and Michael Clarke will both play their 100th Test and it will be the first instance of rival captains playing their 100th Test together.

Ah fook. You wanna borrow my Honey Badger Killing Half Yorkie/Half J Russell Terrier? Won't be able to catch it but could bark the **** out of it?

Has anyone in the England team claimed fatigue/time away from families yet as an excuse?

Fair play to Root in the second innings, he batted very well.

At times our lads made batting look easy again, we just need to try and take some positives from this test.

4 of our top order have got a score in the test and have hopefully remembered that they can play this Aussie attack if they apply themselves correctly.

I can understand why you didn't rate Root as he has been poor. We moved him up to open to soon, he lost all confidence and went into his shell. You could see it in the first three innings of the series he didn't know when to attack and when to defend. It was summed up with his sweep off Lyon's first ball, the short he was trying to do would never have worked due to the line of the ball. It was more a mental thing but the longer he went on you could see him figuring it out. He will be a top player.

I don't think Australia are really that much better than us, but you can see it within their team they want to win, we have lost that mind set it seems to me. We haven't got any confidence and a lot of the batsman are confused with their games look at the ways we are getting out.

We do have a lot of good youngsters, but we have forgotten what our best team is. I would definately go with Bresnan, Broad, Anderson and Swann as my bowling attack, consistency and accuracy there. The batting line up would be very similar with Ballance in for Stokes. Hopefully Prior can get into some form tomorrow as i don't think Bairstow is ready to keep yet, but i think number seven would be a very good place for him to bat. It will give him a lot more freedom to attack which is when he is at his best.

One must say this Australian team really is rather crass.

They lack class and decorum.

Typical Aussies I suppose.

It's in their blood.

Have to say though, I think the defining moment of this series is going to turn out to be Broad walking into the presser post his 5-fer with the copy of that paper under his arm. At what point was that seen as a good idea? Talk about giving the Convicts the pep-talk they needed....

Thing that makes me angry is this Aussie side is bang average and we're making them look like West Indies of the 1980's.

Smith, Watson, Bailey, Rogers and Warner are pretty average at best. Siddle is line and length, Johnson is hot and cold. Haddin is good, but past his best. There only world class players are Harris and Clarke.

If the batsman can find any sort of form and put them under pressure they'll collapse. I still think if we can bat well we can make the series competitive.
