agree on prior and cook. pietersen has always been unpredictable and inconsistent. pity about trott. hope root and prior have gained confidence from their knocks. i can see bresnan in for the next game. panesar's selection defies belief. broad's had the odd decent knock. swann is off form with the bat and ball. bell's probably the most reliable at the moment, though his second innings effort wasn't up to it, but these things happen. not convinced by broad's bowling either, but at least he's a bit more consistent than finn, though neither are economical. there was some stupid shot selection throughout the match.

I'm not sure I 'd go as far as saying they're **** but they they are pretty average barring two or three class players. What has annoyed me is how short we are of playing our best cricket. If you play your best and get beat you just have to say the better team won. As it stands a county second 11 would have beaten us in the first two tests. We just haven't turned up. I can see us losing this test as well though.
