According to the Sheff Star we're being linked with him. He's a much better prospect than Adebola or Howard. Also if it's a bogof get that Ched Evans from the Blades !!! Happy days!

Tbh i don't think any of them would be bad signings, they can all stand up top and win the ball in the air. None of them will really please anybody on here but at Championship level they would all probably get a few goals from the bench, set up a few and not be on much wages. Sounds alright to me.

The problem is we don't want someone scoring goals from the bench. We've been complaining for months that with Fryatt and Simpson/McLean up front we have no physical presence in the team and that Fryatt is suffering as a result of not having a big man alongside him. Now everyone is trying to justify targets like Adebola that aren't up to the job because they won't be playing anyway.

If that's going to be the case we're still going to have the same problem up front that we've had since we signed our current lead striker in January.

I take Ched Evans over Henderson. Would the blunts be up for negotiating though?

I brought signing Ched Evans up about a month ago on Footymad, i think he'd go well with Fryatt still scored a few in a struggling team.

Read somewhere he was linked with leicster or somebody maybe Ipswich for 1.2m

Evans looks a handy player and did ok in a dreadful team last season.

Ipswich look like they may have a bit of money coming in, if indeed, they do sell Connor Wickham to the scousers. Might benefit them in the long run.

Always thought he was a bit overrated anyway. There's way more media attention given to him than he actually gives back in goals/performances. A bit like a Championship Scott Parker ;)

I agree with you about Wickham, he might well fall short in the premier League, but I don't get the Scott Parker comparison, he's really is a class act.

I wouldn't touch evans with a barge pole. I don't think he's a very good player and I don't see what he'd offer. I'd take a punt on henderson though. I don't think wickham should be moving to a premier league team just yet but he's still very young and he's obviously going to get a lot better. A couple more seasons in the championship to develop and then a premier league move would definitely be on the cards for him.

I think if we wanted him we would get him. No one here in Sheffield rates him at all and the club are looking to cut their wage bill

The problem was eradicated when we got the right service to our strikers. I have no problems with Fryatt and Simpson up top aslong as we get the service to them correctly, even our long balls are wrong, when we hoof it we hoof it high and up, instead of low and flat over the top into space. We where not clever enough at times. When stewart came in and gave them the right service we scored goals.

You do not need a big man in a team to play well, but you need that option of the bench for the last 15. I am not justifying anything over the sort as i have never said we need a big man, you don't.

It wasn't. We still had nobody up front who could hold the ball up, whenever we were under pressure the ball just came straight back. Whenever the opposition sat back we couldn't break them down, they just waited for us to misplace a pass, which not being Barcelona was an inevitable result and they knew we didn't have the option of playing a diagonal ball into the box because of our team of midgets.

I just think Parker gets way more attention than he's worth. Every time West Ham scored a goal last season it was "But how good was Parker there?!" even if he was just stood on the other side of the pitch. Nobody mentioned West Ham without praising Parker. I know he's good, but they were treating him like Messi, And player of the year?! No way.
