Good post ... I'd agree with all points made ... it's those 'fine lines' that define a season. United have struggled when RVP hasn't played or has been on the bench ... that is true (against Man City, West Brom and Cardiff).
But United don't always win necessarily when RVP plays and from a Cardiff perspective, I'd be focusing more on excellent home results against Man City, Man United, Everton and Swansea and only narrow defeats againt Tottenham and Newcastle (who are now a 'form' team). Maintaining that home form whilst picking up a few bonus wins away will mean survival. If Medel can keep his focus he looks an excellent signing - which I base more on how comfortable he looked for Chile playing out of position than anything else.
