Good to see Carberry doing well. Think Root needs to be protected a bit by going back down the middle order after a not so great time opening and Bairstow didn't cover himself in any glory last series to warrant a place which allows Root to go back down and Carberry a chance to impress. Cook Carberry Trott KP Bell Root Prior Broad Swann Anderson One other depending on form/pitch That would be my 11 going into the first test.
Apparently Prior may be out for the first test with a calf tear. Suppose that brings Bairstow in, but I'd much sooner Prior. Final warm-up match starts Wednesday.
Won the toss and put the convicts in. Good start - 90 odd for 5, but closed on 271 - 5. Broad excellent, Finn and Rankin not so.
Finn and Rankin have age on their side, they'll come good in future tours, for the first Test I'd go with Tremlett, been there, done it!
Jonnybaws said Finn and Rankin have age on their side. I don't know if Age is a good player or not. But depending on how he bats... we could win (or lose).
