2.6 million for a guy who had been injured a lot, more importanly has REJECTED a decent contract offer from us then karma sets in and he gets injured again, contract up in the summer, if 2.6 mil offer comes in, maul there fecking hands off
This smells of someone playing tricks to unsettle him or his agent trying to up the anti with his contract discussions. Cant see this happening.
Personally I wouldn't be too upset seeing him go. Yes he is class, but he seems to be also made out of glass. (I'm a poet and I didn't know it!) If we can cash in to the sum of £2.5-3m for him. Then that would be good business IMO. From what I have read so far he seems to be asking far too much in recent contract negotiations and as a club we cant afford to be propping up a crock. On his day he is a world beater, but those days have been few and far between.
Would love to see sone stay but wouldn't break the bank to make it happen , I wouldn't be surprised if the contract on offer was made up of a chunk of appearance based bonuses .
Sky on it now..... http://www1.skysports.com/football/...luko-has-turned-down-a-new-deal-at-hull-city?
Nothing we dont already know though. He will be kicking himself for turning it down as I doubt he will get anywhere near what we offered him.
I wonder if it comes down to SB/the Allams offering an 'appearance' deal, but he wants a 'normal' (= good) deal?
In answer to the original point: 1) I think it's almost certain he'll go. 2) Considering - despite what the meds are saying - that he probably does need an op then I cant see anyone paying for him, so it'll be summer rather than Jan. 3) Taking into account his perpetual injury situation I cant see another Prem club coming in for him so I actually think he might go abroad, perhaps somewhere like Turkey. I'd snap someone's hands off at £2.5m cos he really isnt right until we stop pissing about and he has his op. I suspect that's our thinking actually - patch him up to get him near playing and get some money in knowing that 6 months down the line he needs his op anyway and if we do the op now he's out till summer and then we'll defo get nowt.
If Palace wanted a player to help keep them up, why would they pick one who's injured until at least February, possibly the rest of the season? It's a crock of ****.
Hopefully. I dont think either SB or Allams will be wet behind the ear when it comes to negotiations.
We are certainly missing him but its all down to his injury situation if he stays or not. This story will properly be is agent showing the football world he is available hoping it alerts other clubs. Anyway January is a long way off more importantly we need another 10 points on board up to Christmas
His agent is a pleb if he thinks he can move on a player currently suffering from what appears to be a reoccurring injury.
I think Aluko will move on, probably on a free in the summer - although he comes across as quite humble on Twitter, he has 'previous' when it comes to contracts and to turn down £40k (if true?) shows he thinks very highly of himself. We're talking like he is key to our survival, and he is a brilliant player and a massive player for us, but he also has games like the Villa home game were he was anonymous and hauled off early.
Precisely as I said on the other thread, he treated both Aberdeen and Rangers like ****e when he thought he could get a better deal. I'm beginning to feel glad he only signed for 2 years and we can get shut in the summer. We've dodged a massive bullet with him rejecting our offer and I hope we dont make him another one.
Looks like SB/AA have made him near enough their best offer which he has turned down, and now his agent is seeing if a better deal is out there.
