Yeah, of course there is ......... it's just funny that you automatically view Southampton's fouls as 'not dirty'.

Anyone would think you were biased or something ...........

It has been noted before that we commit a lot of fouls but collect fewer cards than you'd expect. Most of our fouls are not nasty enough for a card and are in the middle of the pitch...so we are not stopping a goal scoring opportunity but are preventing one from developing. Refs are less likely to give bookings for those. We also tackle more than most, so are also likely to commit fouls.

Biased, and also factually correct, as Fran says.

So they're sneaky little fouls that gain an advantage without receiving cards, must take a lot of practice ......... fair enough.

So you can't respect someone who has different political opinions?

That'll be the "alternative vote" that we had a referendum on a couple of years ago. Wasn't very popular.

;) Surprised it took so long for someone to challenge me on that one! I respect David Jason for his acting, but was disappointed with him for that comment as he came out with the tired old "we're being taken over by Europe - losing our independence" argument that I don't believe holds any weight to speak of.

As for the AV stuff, again it was the quality of the arguments that bothered me. Things like "AV will give people with views we don't like more voice" and so on.

Anyway, about last night, I thought it was interesting that although we lost and were disappointed with the performance, the general approach was very similar to the first team and emphasised that the difference between last season and this has just been a few tweaks here and there, not wholesale change.

It wasn't very popular because nobody bothered to try to understand it. In fact, it was a hugely missed opportunity for the voter to have some further democracy in this country. Although it wasn't ideal, it was one of the very things that could energise people into voting again.

But no, we tug our forelocks, moan a bit occasionally, and then do what people in power tell us to do. It was ever thus. We are not worthy. God save the Queen.

Lost count last night of fouls against us, where the Referee seemed to play on, then did not bring it back when it was obvious there was no advantage gained, that's down to a lack of histrionics and diving from our players, who seemed to have told to play to the whistle, and a Refreree who doesn't seem to know the advantage rule. The main Press seem to think we should have had a Penalty when Chambers was clearly manhandled, but nothing given as usual.

A 42.2% turnout for the AV Referendum shows how poorly it was publicised. We're the only country in Europe to use FPTP and coalitions are common in other European countries.

I voted for AV, but really I don't think it would have been much of an improvement anyway. It sounds to me like a pretty half-arsed reform which would not be nearly as effective as a proper PR system.

It was done so the Lib Dems can add something to their short list of things they've done in government.
