Agreed. They play a high pressing game which will suit us down to the ground if our passing game is anything like.

Not a game for Aluko or Brady atm. Same team for me if they are all fit.

I suspect that Steve Bruce will be up north on weds watching that game. Saints will play a strong 11 as they will fancy doing a Swansea this season. Good news for us.

both ties so far have rung 11 changes , and I think that there will be alot of changes tomorrow night too .........should be a good game then as if you come and pass it around , play football and try to attack that will also suit us well and truely down to the ground . Its the boring park the bus west ham , sunderlands etc that we struggle to break down .

I would be delighted with a point on Saturday. Southampton have looked very good this season and we'll have to be at our best to get something against them. There won't be many goals in it, either a 1-1 draw a 1-0 either way.

Correct score odds are **** for the realistic chance you have at calling them. Even score cast odds can be shocking - I had 2-1 Bayern/Mandzukic scorecast in the last champions league final at something like 5/1.

I have been really impressed with Hull this season. I did think you had a great chance of staying up even before the great additions made in the summer. Bruce is doing a great job.

Expecting a really tough game, I think it will finish 1-1. Don't feel very confident about this one at all, I'm not sure why all the other saints fans on here are so confident! Safe travels to everyone making the journey down.

Thanks. Saints are not a bad watch either.

It'll be interesting to see how the managers set up for this, as both will be respectful of the others defences. Home advantage and a better strike force leaves it tilting toward a Southampton win, but our lot can really dig deep.

I'm predicting a tight game, so one of us is in for a stuffing. <ok>

I didn't realise that there's some serious history between them and Poyet.

I wonder if their focus is on that game rather than us? I hope so, we need all the edge we can get down there. Them playing tomorrow and travelling back could help us too.

It is a game that will either be a 0-0 or a high scoring game. Steve Bruce will got for this one imo. But for match officals and robbery @ Everton and Spurs we would have 2 more points. Saints have also been a good watch. I enjoyed your performance at Liverpool especially. Very impressive. Yes i think saturday could well be a Barn Burner of a game. Looking forward to it.

Yes but that was the early rounds. I expect that Pochettino will fancy a go at Chelsea in the qtr final so he may not change as many as you think. I expect Sunderland to change a few. Plus Cattermole and Dossena are suspended anywaynow from the weekend.

Afternoon! Saints fan here.

Have to confess that when you got promoted I thought a relegation spot had been booked and that our home fixture to you was a 3 point banker. I definitely don't think that anymore though, you look well organised and the raid on Tottenham looks inspired. I reckon that you had the best transfer window out of the 3 teams coming up.

Not sure the match at the weekend is going to be the most inspiring game we have ever watched, but should be a tightly contested affair. Huddlestone is one of the few players I think has the quality to pick the passes to evade our high press. I'm going to go for 1-0 Saints or 0-0 as my prediction.

Any idea how many Hull fans are making the trip South?

We would have most probably sold our allocation, I'm not sure on numbers but I think we have with every away game so far. I may be wrong though.

in answer to french tickler , saints make ten changes from the team on sat , only jay rodriguez keeps his place tonight

1-0 down to Sunderland.
Like I say we could be seeing the first symptoms of bubble-pop.

I thought someone said they made 10 changes for tonights game? Doesn't really imply a popped bubble if their first team isn't playing!

yeah, they started without 10 first teamers and sunderland have arguably their strongest out

Consecutive bad results at a club have a habit of affecting squad confidence. It may be wishful thinking but it happens.
2-0 now.
