Apologies if there's already a thread, and please delete, etc. But i can't see one, so therefore just talking about the team, I'd rather it not be the actual match thread as others can do that better, there are some rumours on another forum that Kab and Capoue may play some part, even Rose. What a fantastic boost that would be, and how great it would be if one or more of the three could start v Everton. I still don't believe we'll get top 4, even though I predicted fourth in a moment of rash optimism, but get those three back and suddenly there's a real chance. It should be a good game, with lots of 1882 people there to boost the atmosphere. Also a lot of the moany regulars will hopefully give the game a miss, and let some proper supporters in. May be a vain hope of course. I'm looking forward to it. We can realistically win this Cup, especially if the above three are back. Go team, go Spurs
I think Kaboul, Rose and Capoue are all still out unfortunately JPG, according to the Evening Standard website anyway. Hopefully we'll give a few other players the chance to impress after the dull performance on Sunday. Friedel, Walker, Dawson, Chiriches, Naughton (unless Fryers is fit, then play him and Naughts RB) Sandro, Dembele Lamela, Sigurdsson, Chadli Defoe
With othe options available SOS that may be the best team to put out. I really wish we could rest Sandro and Dawson though. I would like Eriksen to get a run out as well if possible as I think he needs more game time with the team. Maybe swap him for Chadl?
We are so short at the back. Was thinking no way will Walker and Dawson play yet another game, instead we'll play .........nope, nothing. Is it worth playing some of the under 21s? We can mix it up, up front (and I like your front 4). I would go Friedel Naughton/Walker Chiriches Dawson Fryers/Naughton Sandro Lennon Eriksen Chadli Lamela Defoe So 4-1-3-2. Hull surely can't put out a very strong team in this, given the team they had to play in the league
I'd leave Sandro out. He looked knackered against Hull and we need him at 100% for Everton. Might be an idea to start Holtby in a deeper role. Maybe him and Dembele in the middle with Sigurdsson, Chadli and Lamela in front of them? It'd be nice to see Adebayor getting some game time too, even if it's from the bench. Good to have options.
My understanding is that Kaboul has been ok for a couple of weeks, but they are not tempting fate by playing him too often where possible. Assuming he is not sent to Tromso, then the remaining cup games in the UK for 2013 will not allow a leisurely stroll for him now. So with other injuries starting to clock up, Kaboul will have to get more regularly involved.
Let's hope Talkshite have changed the habit of a lifetime and got something right. In which case Friedel Naughton Kaboul Chiriches Rose Capoue Lennon Eriksen Chadli Lamela Defoe/Adebayor
Only reason I chose Sandro is because he was subbed off at H/T Sunday after playing pretty poor so may wanna get a few minutes and get back in the swing of things, plus seeing as Capoue is still out and Paulinho gets rested for most cup games, leaves only him and Dembele, unless AVB gives Bentaleb a chance? Which I'd love.
Hi all, as I say I'm just passing on a rumour. You're more likely to get a genuine 'exclusive scoop' on such matters from the forums than the Standard, but as we know can all be rubbish too. However what a fantastic boost even if just Kab and Cap play of the 3. Even more important if Cap at least can play Sunday too, two games might be too much for Kab. Everton won't feel so scary if we have one of those two 'beasts' in there to help look after Lukaku & co. Well not long till tomorrow. Am really excited about the game, we have a great chance of a Wembley final if we do win. COYS!
I'd like to see Holtby and Eriksen play together, maybe even with Gylfi, to see if we can get a more dangerous looking team at home against teams that sit back. While there's certainly a danger they'll all clump together in the middle, they stand out both as goal threats and as players who can thread a pass. I honestly would prioritize this game on the grounds we need to win it, and we have such a history of not winning in Goodison Park we may be wiser to concentrate on the theoretically more winnable game.
It's a strange one really, on the one hand I think we should be using our squad and getting players game time but on the other hand I think our first choice players could benefit from some more time playing together. Assuming Rose, Kaboul and Capoue are still out. Friedel Walker, Dawson, Chirches, Vertonghen Eriksen, Dembele, Holtby Lamela, Defoe, Chadli Make it a 4231 if you want, no idea if it would work but I think Holtby and Eriksen both need minutes. I'm not totally convinced about that back 4 but I don't have any better ideas and another game of them playing together can only help them, I reckon.
We'll put out a very similar team, we'll probably rest Huddlestone and Davies(possibly Sagbo), but the rest will probably be the same. Danny Graham and Robert Koren are back in contention, so they'll probably get a run out at some point.
It'll be sods law that Graham scores against us. One of the best defences in the league vs a striker yet to score a goal in 2013 = Hat trick for Danny Graham. Hudd played really well Sunday so if he's not playing that'll be a bit of a touch.
It seems that Huddlestone is definitely being rested, also first choice players Harper, Brady and Aluko(who all didn't play on Sunday anyway and would have been unlikely to feature in a cup game regardless of their recent injury issues) and I suspect Davies will be rested too. There seems some confusion over Graham being eligible, as Di Canio wouldn't let him play in the last round, but he does seem to have travelled, so maybe Poyet sees things differently. If we manage to win tonight, it will be nothing short of a miracle.
Hudd, Brady and Aluko being out will definitely be a massive bonus for us, I like all three of them. A win won't be out of the question for you lot mate, I reckon AVB will field a rotated squad too and some of our players are still finding their feet/ getting back to fitness. Hopefully home advantage and our squad strength will pay off but Cup games are never easy to predict.
Not sure if you are on another wum or trying to be clever. So I'll ask you to define proper supporters as opposed to the "Moany regulars".
