    I rate Schumacher very highly but it's not quite the same is it? Rossi won the title in his first year after changing teams while Schumacher took five years to turn Ferrari around, largely by improving the car.

    Watching and knowing them isn't the same thing tho? A lot of footballers that seem ok around football are knobs in real life.

    In fairness, he probably should have won it sooner. In 1997, Schumacher by and large had Villeneuve's number, but an awful mid-season really screwed him over. Although he did contribute to his own demise in the finale.

    What Rossi did at Yamaha was nothing short of miraculous. If you look at the results of the Honda from 2000 to 2004 inclusive, and see where the Yamaha is in comparison, then see what happens from the first race of the 2005 season onwards, that is no fluke. He'd won the very first race of the new season on the Yamaha and was dominant throughout.
