Sticking it on here, rather than a new thread, as I don't want to give it importance that perhaps it shouldn't have, I notice (from SaintsWeb) that Southampton FC have taken out another loan from the company that leant us money at the start of last season. The original loan has been repaid. The first loan was set against the Sky money, but this appears to be more substantial being set against the club. It has been pointed out that other clubs have also reported loans, so is not unusual. I would be more worried if I thought someone was trying to make a fast buck, but Nicola acts like a man here for the long haul. Perhaps the discussion with Katerina was not to get more money from the Leihberrs, but permission to borrow the necessary funds to push the club on.

When he wins more than 9 world championships he'll be better.

Let me explain a little further. I'm a fan of Marquez. He is a superb talent. However, when he has not been riding the fastest bike, he performs less well.

In 2005, Rossi changed from the all-conquering Honda to the slow M1 Yamaha, after it was said by Honda that it was the bike that Rossi had won 4 WCs on. He promptly won the WC on the slow Yamaha. That's the kind of thing that helps make him the greatest.

That's the difference between Rossi and Schumacher/Vettel. He was questioned as the greatest, so he went out and proved it on a slower bike, something Vettel will never have the balls to do.

Because Vettel isn't that good.

Posted the other day. I would take him if can cut out his diving antics.

But he never will. I use to like him at Villa until he started the stick my leg out and throw myself crap.

Doesn't the phrase "we understand" make you want to stab your own eyeballs out.

Oh, I see. Well, I don't know about better. Marquez is beating everyone, even Jorge. Since Stoner left he's the fastest rider on two wheels, but fastest rider and best rider can actually be two different things. Currently, the best rider, in my opinion, is Lorenzo. The Yamaha M1 is no match for the RCV Honda, at present. In terms of converting horsepower onto the track, the Honda has no peer. However, the Yamaha is still the sweetest handling bike since Rossi helped make it so, way back when. That means that it can compete on non-horsepower hungry tracks, like Phillip Island for example. And Lorenzo is just pulling everything out of it at present. He's making a slower motorcycle keep up with the fastest, and that is why I think he is currently the best rider. Another thing, when the chips are down now, he doesn't make mistakes. Mark of a champion.

Agreed. Vale your Schumi, Lorenzo is your Alonso. Marquez your rookie year Hamilton.....will be fascinating to watch it all develop.

That's just not correct. Rossi did precisely the same thing that Schumacher did when he joined Ferrari. Took hold of an ailing team and made them champions. It's also far too early to say "Vettel will never have the balls" to do the same.....he's only 26 ffs!

I'm no fan as it happens, but I really don't see this is the case. You can only beat what's in front of you, and he does that consistently and without making hardly any mistakes. Don't be fooled, he's very, very good.

Vettel is indeed very good , but put Alonso in that car and see what it can do .

Most important and influential man in any TEAM is IMHO Mr A .Newey .

I agree that Alonso is all round a more complete driver and also that the key influencer here is Adrian Newey. However, stick Alonso in that car and see what it can do - well, he'd go and win the majority of races. Just the same as.......Vettel does.
