They were worthy of yellow cards, so he should have been sent off

I think you deserved the win.

I'm not too fussed about the result, as we played well, and the other results went for us.

Missed opportunities are part and parcel of a team trying to settle in this league. We probably should've scored from some of the set plays, but these things happen. Plus, Kone really should've scored.

We played well in the first half, but you knew Everton would come out and apply themselves better in the second. In the end, you were just better than us.

I disagree with you on the two Barry incidents. I hink he's extremely lucky. But, these things happen. Brady was extremely fortuitous to get a penalty vs West Ham. But we accepted it.

Good luck for the season, except on the last day at the KC, especially if we need to the points to stay up.

sorry but Barry just made himself look a bit of a twat on MOD. He celebrates the goal and points to himself with Barkley then says he doesn't know if it might have glanced off him. Why not just say "I flicked a leg at it and got a lucky break". Its not for him to decide if he was offside and I cant blame the officials for not seeing it at the time but why not just be honest.....The man has no shame

Maybe but Barry did it twice and got away with it.

Barry has made a right twat of himself, he lies about flicking on an offside goal, having already got away with what should have been two yellows. Shabby twat.

And what's happened to Goodison Park, it's like a morgue?

Swings and roundabouts. Enough decisions went our way against West Ham, this time they went Everton's way.

I would say though that the opposition seem to be getting away with reckless challenges against us.

Alright lads, I thought you did well yesterday, Bruce has put together a good side there & has got you well set up (I think he's one of the most underated managers in the game). If he can persuade Allam to dig deep for a quality striker, then you could be in business.

Barry could have gone on another day, but then so could your lad, so the referee was at least consistent.

Pienaar's winner deserved to win the game tbh, sublime finish.

Have you ever been to a football match?
In fact, do you have any idea what football is?

We've now had 3 games where the opposition should have been reduced to 10 men.

    Everton (Barry)
    West Ham (Nolan) and
    Villa (Westwood)

Seem to remember similar problems last time we were in the Prem. Not saying refs are consciously biased, but I think subconsciously they favour the "BIG" clubs because of the hype about newly promoted clubs being expected to struggle and therefore it is somehow expected and acceptable that decisions go against them.

It's like the coverage of City on match of the day last night, it was so blasé that Everton won, almost as if the result was a foregone conclusion. That creates an environment where referees can avoid making difficult decisions, even though they are wrong to do so, because the Big Clubs are expected to win.

I'm afraid this will continue until we become an established Premier League side, if that happens!

I just said that to a friend, reds are really hard to come by against us this year, both of Barry's fouls really where poor, both deserved a yellow.

I have to agree with what OLM said, it was my first visit to Goodison and i had heard it was a cracking atmosphere due to the old nature of the ground, but it was shocking, did they actually sing a single song.

After next week City will have played 4 of last season's top 6 teams away, and so far these games have boosted everyone's confidence rather than shattered it.

Yesterday we competed with Everton very well and the result could have gone either way which shows just how far we've come already.

    And so it begins.

I imagine he'll be "spotted" in Weir soon enough...

By all accounts Everton's 2nd half performance meant you deserved the win. The commentator on BBC thought we just shaded the 1st half + I guess we needed one of Aluko's chances to go in just before the break. I didn't expect anything from the game to be honest so to compete as well as we did against a top 6/7 team is pleasing. Good luck for the rest of the season - except when you play us of course!

Agree with this, especially when you compare it to Sagbo getting sent off for "intent to headbutt" ....so flicking your head in the direction of somebody while stood about a metre away from them is deemed more harmful than studs up into someone's leg?

"not to be consciously biased" agree with that. We are what our environment is and what we do, feel and how we think is effected by what we see and hear. And reading and viewing the media have a particular impact. Its no different for referees.

He left hospital on crutches, but with no pot or bandaging, which suggests it's not a bad as first feared.
