I think we can all agree that our mods do a great job on here & are well appreciated but I just feel lately that they are too quick to shut down threads 'just in case' things get ****ty!
Any chance you can let them play out longer before pulling them?

I make it around 3 in a week or 3 in around 3 months if you want to put it that way.

Not too excessive and the only one nipped in the bud was done for very prudent, potentially legal reasons. The other two were left to reach a fairly natural conclusion.

That's just my opinion.

I also think that Nines and Roller are doing a fantastic job of being part of the group rather that officiators/arbitrators.

The only noticeable thing they have done is, what to an outsider looks like, a conscious effort to add both style and substance with some top notch thread starters and visuals.

Keep it up guys. :)

You're pissing against the wind rrrrrs mate. Its not going to change. In fact, it will probably just keep getting worse. There are more thread closures now than ever before and freedom of speech is long finished as a concept on here.

Having said that I think 9's and Roller are great guys and are just trying to do things as they see is fit and proper. I just think its very wrong and will ultimately sound the death knell for this Board.

The two threads that come to mind - one about jury service, and one that ended up stereotyping the Scots, were both closed for good reason as far as I can see.

One was erring towards, dare I say, racism (if we'd been talking about people from Northern Africa, then I'm sure Imaz would have brought it up long before the thread was closed, were he still around), after we'd given the Celtic fan a lot of duly asked for abuse of a more acceptable nature.

The other thread allowed 2 posters to potentially incriminate themselves after discussing a trial they served on the jury of, something that 9's confirmed is illegal.

Nothing wrong with closing either, as far as I can see.

So which ones are you referring to? The one where certain posters were flirting with contempt of court (these people would be advised to go and remove their own posts) or the racist one where every Scot was depicted as an alcoholic?
We have all agreed what is and isn't acceptable and both of these fell out of bounds.

I don't believe there are more closures now than at any other time, they've explained their reasons and taken the decisions in the best interests of the board not for one or two sh*t-stirrers who love an 'off'...

Joking right?

Closing that thread about jury service was wise, but not only was it closed out of thoughtfulness and concern (fair one NUTS), it was closed with additional info.

Another thread was closed last week, can't remember why, but beyond that, I can't think of any others.

Seems like I've got your back up, wasn't my intention.
I think calling it a racist thread is a bit strong IMO. He gave a bit, we gave a bit. There was also the Remy/Taraabt thread that got pulled for no real reason. Just my opinion, if no one else agrees that's fine.

Honestly guys, if I'm one of the two that some are assuming to now be in contempt of court for recanting a mildly amusing anecdote about the aftermath of an unspecified trial at an unspecified court in an unspecified town at an unspecified time in an unspecified year, then please, please, please call in the rozzers and get my collar felt.

DT on the other hand....

You can tell we have entered the "International Break" can't you.

Lets start another thread....if we had a match on Saturday say against Melchester Rovers what would your team be; what would the predicted score be, who was your man of the match;

I will start
Green
BAO, Hill, Dunne, Simpson
Henry Faurlin
Hoillet Kranky,
Javier Chevaton, Austen

Would rest Barton for the Millwall match, he is on 4 yellows...Melchester would just rile him

6-1 to the Super RRRRRs, (Austin 3, Chevie 2, Kranky 1) vs 1 R.Race for Melchester

MoM:----- Ale, Ale Faulin...controlled the match from start to finish.

Will wait for Judo to put up his summary...later on

Nines and I are both new to this job and are still very much in the learning process.

Over the last few months there have been a number of posts which have contravened our forum's personal abuse policy, some with unnecessarily vulgar language in the title and at least one which has contained a derogatory racial term. Not wishing to “over mod” the forum we generally have done nothing in the majority of cases and surreptitiously toned down a few headings without seeking to draw attention to them or our actions. We have also received a small number of complaints about various posts which we have tried to handle efficiently and quietly.

But as I said we are still learning, does anyone else agree with rrrrrs that any of these threads have been closed too hastily?
