OK, rest easy lads and lasses. I've scrolled back 50 pages, which is approximately 1,000 threads and takes us back to 29th July (so call it just under two and a half months). There have been merely 7 thread closures during that time. I won't list them all for fear of resurrecting certain subjects, but I'd say the only one that I was surprised to see closed was the "Remy & Taarabt" one, which Nines appeared to close because he had gotten bored of it (he actually stated the arguments therein had gone full circle; I assumed he was just having a bad day).

So less than 1% of threads closed. Now't to get excited about, really.

IMO it was a silly and unnecessary thread. Why would you let the world know where and when you were on jury service? It could actually be dangerous. I'm also sure it's illegal.

I didn't ask for the thread to be closed but IMO it should have been.

I think we can all agree that our mods do a great job on here & are well appreciated but I just feel lately that they are too quick to shut down threads 'just in case' things get ****ty!
Any chance you can let them play out longer before pulling them?

I tried to PM nines the very same issue with regards to the Remy Tarbs thread but was having computer troubles.
i thin it was closed down far to early and maybe nines thought it was going to get heated.
I asked some questions & Pd replied, then we continued the debate and we were waiting for cols reply but he never got a chance!

not sure there have ben many others but i guess our mods have there reasons and always explain them when they do close a thread down.

So which ones are you referring to? The one where certain posters were flirting with contempt of court (these people would be advised to go and remove their own posts) or the racist one where every Scot was depicted as an alcoholic?
We have all agreed what is and isn't acceptable and both of these fell out of bounds.

Seems like I've got your back up, wasn't my intention.
I think calling it a racist thread is a bit strong IMO. He gave a bit, we gave a bit. There was also the Remy/Taraabt thread that got pulled for no real reason. Just my opinion, if no one else agrees that's fine.

Although it wasn't particularly racist it was getting a bit close - that thread could have continued for a while with the Celtic fan if it had carried on a footballing theme and hadn't turned out the way it was heading. I moved up to Scotland years ago, and although it has it's fair share of problems, it is no different than any other part of the UK for alkies and junkies, reading some of your posts was a bit cringe-worthy sorry to say guys

Because we all have different views, I can only speak for myself and say I don't have any issues with the way the board is going.
If anything, I feel the board continues to change for the better, one main reason is that members from around the world are slowly but surely getting together as groups and meeting up in person.
That is a marvellous outcome and those in the mix ought to be congratulated.

As a 'mod' on another forum for the past four years, I can tell you that doing the job is not as simple and or easy as it may seem.

Probably fair to say that should any issues arise, I can only surmise that it would make sense to cull a sensitive thread earlier rather than later, for a variety of reasons.
Having the benefit of hindsight is a marvellous thing, meanwhile ................. while a contentious thread is currently running, the mods are required to make a decisive decision in the best interest of the forum.
They are not just here to please us .......... they are literally the 'meat in the sandwich' and need to satisfy the site owners as well.

All in all, this is forum is primarily about football with some 'off topic' threads thrown in to fill in the spaces and the interest of members..
Again, these are only my thoughts but I can only suggest that we keep in mind that we all come together because we are football fans of QPR and that is our mainstay .......... personal views of other matters should not override our thoughts of our team and the reason we are on this forum, more so, any off topic spirited comment may be better continued off site.

May I just point out that Roller's suggestion that contributors to the Jury Service thread delete their contentious posts will prove difficult when the thread has been locked. I suggest DT Tippexes his screen instead.

I'm not the one that started the thread.

No......but you're the one who always jumps all over this kind of thread. You tried it on with Brix too, who completely wiped the floor with you. You always try to undermine the mods whenever an opportunity arises.

In my opinion, Roller and Nines are doing an exemplary job and I'm very grateful to them for their time and effort.

I was wondering when you were going to spot that.

The supermod has now deleted the whole thread.

Time to close this one perhaps?

Honestly guys, if I'm one of the two that some are assuming to now be in contempt of court for recanting a mildly amusing anecdote about the aftermath of an unspecified trial at an unspecified court in an unspecified town at an unspecified time in an unspecified year, then please, please, please call in the rozzers and get my collar felt.

DT on the other hand....

I didn't think about it to be fair and mime was over 20 years ago at least

I actually think also the whole system needs a massive overhaul

I would shoot all lawyers and the shape shifting judges

All estate agents

All border control

Traffic wardens

Local government

The BBC

The police or whatever they are called today

I would pay fireman and nurses double and let them decide how to run those services

National health bosses all of them all to be injected with bird flu and sent to the Isle of Man or Hull

I would then sit back in France and watch it all

I have met both Roller and nines and they are great people ... It's this simple for me would always treat them as they have treated him ... I considered them mates and with that comes respect

Fcuk me i didn't think starting that thread would cause sooo much trouble, i only started it about payments i get & about my firm not paying me, i didn't think others would have quoted about their trials, apologise about causing any disruption.

You can tell we have entered the "International Break" can't you.

Lets start another thread....if we had a match on Saturday say against Melchester Rovers what would your team be; what would the predicted score be, who was your man of the match;

I will start
Green
BAO, Hill, Dunne, Simpson
Henry Faurlin
Hoillet Kranky,
Javier Chevaton, Austen

Would rest Barton for the Millwall match, he is on 4 yellows...Melchester would just rile him

6-1 to the Super RRRRRs, (Austin 3, Chevie 2, Kranky 1) vs 1 R.Race for Melchester

MoM:----- Ale, Ale Faulin...controlled the match from start to finish.

Will wait for Judo to put up his summary...later on

if we played melchester we would lose for the first time this season
4-3
roy to score a hat trick in the last 5 mins
