How about Kagawa? Player of the season at Dortmund a couple of years ago, clearly not wanted by United who can't find a position from him - would be another creative player in the final 3rd.

Only problem would be I'd think Dortmund would take him back in a heartbeat and United more likely to sell to them than us.

Might want to have a look at Lyon as they are falling apart and still some quality in that side!!!

Apparently we had scouts at the PSG vs Marseille game yesterday.

Potential targets: Pastore, Menez, Matuidi, Ayew

Pastore didn't get a minute, Menez wasn't even in the squad, Ayew was the worst player on the pitch and there's no way in hell PSG would sell Matuidi.

Overall a fruitful scouting trip I sppose.

Quite astonishing really considering their dominance between 2001 and 2008!

Even with the money men coming in you would have thought they would have been 3rd at least. THink they have been chopping and changing left right and center along with some buys that have not quite lived up to the standard before.

I suppose it's good that Pastore and Menez weren't starting or in the squad as it would firm up the rumours that they've fallen out of favour. <ok>

Two very good players who would beef up our squad.

Arsenal and Liverpool must cough up £30m if they are to tempt Swansea to sell Michu

SWANSEA CITY chairman Huw Jenkins values Arsenal and Liverpool target Michu at £30million

Swans boss Michael Laudrup insisted that the Spaniard was worth £30million only four months into his impressive debut in the Premier League, where he scored 18 times in 35 appearances.

The 27-year-old signed for just £2.2million from Rayo Vallecano, but in light of Michu's call-up to the Spain squad, Jenkins now agrees with Laudrup's valuation.

Jenkins said: "We've seen with Tottenham and Gareth Bale that every player has a price. We are not in that bracket with Tottenham but they sold a top player. We are realistic about that side of things.

"I would say Michael was about right with his valuation of Michu if you look at the current market, but this call-up enhances that further.

"We know we have a very talented player and naturally we want to keep him."

Arsenal were linked with a move for the forward, who has already scored five this term, to strengthen their front line.

It is understood that Arsene Wenger, as well as Liverpool's Brendan Rodgers, continues to monitor his progress, but will have to table a hefty bid to even tempt Swansea to sell.

On hearing of his call-up to the Spain squad, Michu said: "Every Spanish footballer dreams of this and it's so difficult. Few people can wear the shirt of the best team in the world.

"Let's see if fortune is with me and I can play, although I'm already grateful to be called up."

My response: NNNOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!

£30 million for Michu? I would not even want him for half of that. Surely we have learned our lesson for the Carroll situation, these players look good for clubs with very little ambition or pressure to win but put them in a big club with pressure to win every week and they go to ****.

I do think we've learnt our lesson in the transfer market. We are willing to spend big money in the right player - Mkhityran, Costa, Willian etc, but we won't go over our valuation.

Also, can you imagine if we had Ashley Williams over Sakho ...

Agreed. I think he's been poor so far this season in comparison to last.

Paper talk!

Agree with you, I think we've learnt our lesson with regards to over paying for players.
He's decent mind but for £30m we could (assuming they'd want to come to us) a lot better.

Liverpool plan £17million for Spanish midfielder

Liverpool are tracking Spain midfielder Koke and could make a £17m bid for him in January, according to reports.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers is short of central midfield options and is keen to strengthen that part of his squad when the transfer window re-opens.

Rodgers has now set his sights on Atletico Madrid youngster Koke, who has been one of the key reasons behind the capital club's flawless start to the La Liga season.

The 21-year-old, who has been capped three times, has scored two goals and set up six more in eight league games this term.

Koke has flourished under the tutelage of manager Diego Simeone, who is desperate to hold on to the midfielder and will attempt to resist any offers from the Anfield side.
