Well, I said that we owed someone a good tonking, so I believe [said in best patronising Stephen Fry] we'll get the cane out of the closet and give them a damn good thrashing.

Respect is due to your team so I'd be happy with a draw down there , but I'm sure our boys will turn up and give you a good game.

TSS is right though. We've been doing well while playing average. When it clicks someone is going to get tonked!I'm happy to wait for Man U!<whistle><whistle>

We're really good at the bit where you keep the ball out of your own net. We're really good at the bit where you take the ball away from the other team. We're really good at the bit where you work the ball forward and get a bunch of players into the other team's half.

We're really bad at the bit where you turn all of that possession and sustained pressure into actual chances, and the hope is that one day we'll figure that out and goals will rain down from the heavens in an orgiastic display of scoring prowess. Whether it will, well...

Is there a difference between feeling stoked or dishing out a tonking..................

The feeling of stokedness is the preliminary sensation prior to administering a tonking. Its the electric in the air, the earthy smell, the wet jigsaw puzzle.

I see in the last few hours of NewsNow articles on Saints, the proliferation of Pochettino's supposed aim at the Champions League. One news header even suggests that Poch has had a dig at Swansea about the Europa League.

Anyone who saw today's pre-match news conference knows Poch didn't have a dig at Laudrup or Swansea [he doesn't compare himself to Barack Obama either], but said that he prefers the Champions League over the Europa League. Well, indeed. Who wouldn't..? It wasn't an Europa League put-down, but more of a Champions League appreciation, and somewhere where the club want to go. Realistically, not this season [though I wouldn't say no if it was a thing to be offered], but in the coming seasons, certainly. Is that too much to ask, i.e. to have a goal [the other type] for your football club..?

Anyway, have a look at all the articles on this subject, [before -DTLW links them all ;) ]:
