The various dissident IRA's will have been glad of the display.

Gambol, the point I am trying to make is that whoever gave this the go ahead is either extremely naive (to say the least) or simply did not care what happened. I don't happen to believe the latter.

This is a PR disaster for all concerned because the bams who hate the Military - and see them as anti-Catholic zealots - have had their fears confirmed in every way. This display gives the distinct impression that the forces are cram packed with arseholes with sectarian prejudices. It also leads the bams in the crowd to belive they have the Military onside when it comes to dealing with these pesky taigs over the water.

The troops are clearly clapping along with the Bams in the crowd singing about Derry's walls (and various other NI based ditties), it's embarassing. I know it's not a true representation of your average squaddie, who does not give two ****s about religion or the rights and wrongs of the troubles, but this risible affront to the Forces paints a different picture altogether, one that will be seized upon by people with agendas, on both sides.

Yep, I understood that.

As I said...

Sure, fans on both sides will see it that way, but those are the twats that already are sectarian fuds that we could all do without.

Those who have an agenda always see an opposing agenda wherever they look.

In the meantime, what are we to do? Never have the forces at Ibrox again? That's how the bams will win.

It would be a start. Killing people in the name of war is not something we should be celebrating. That goes for all the other clubs and organisations that take part in these 'celebrations'.

Photoshopped Timmy ...

And the picture wasn't even taken at Ibrox!

Anyway, it just confirmed what we Micks have always thought about the British Army.

"It will be interesting to see if any newspaper covers the fact that members of Britain's armed forces appeared to join in with Scottish football fans as they sang sectarian songs at a match yesterday. Initial reports suggest not."
