The point I have been making all along, however, as I also said, it was wholly predictable that something like this would happen. No one would be daft enough to suggest letting troops march around Celtic Park, anyone with any sense could tell you the outcome and likewise that was always going to be a tawdry jamboree which would be highjacked by morons.

I don't blame the individual soldiers, sailors and airmen, I blame the Top Brass for allowing this shambolic display.

Some will complain of that I have no doubt and to be honest I have little sympathy for the fools who are holding that scarf up, I doubt members of their own regiment (Including their CO) will either.

Do you agree with me that the vast majority of the army types there would have been Rangers supporters ?

    The Fans Forces Fund?

Is that another one of those charities that finds it's funds getting syphoned to help a financially-stricken professional football club?

I'm guessing they would all have been Gers supporters Aldo. Why would anyone of a non Gers persuasion have volunteered to take part.

    ps

    ****'s hit the fan:

The Army confirmed today that it was aware of a number of complaints, and had launched a probe into the issue. In a statement, it said: “We are aware of a number of complaints of against members of the Armed Forces at the Armed Forces Day match at Ibrox stadium at the weekend.

“The Army and Police Scotland, assisted by Rangers football club, are investigating these complaints. Sectarianism is a breach of the Army’s strict values and standards. If any personnel are found to have fallen short of these values and standards they will be dealt with by administrative or disciplinary action by the chain of command and, if necessary, by the police.”

Chief Superintendent Andy Bates of Police Scotland also confirmed the force had been made aware of the allegations, and was investigating.

Why are you asking me you cretin?

Read this and try and digest it:

The Army and police are investigating complaints of offensive chanting by members of the armed forces at a Rangers match at Ibrox. The club hosted an Armed Forces Day event at their home match with Stenhousemuir on Saturday.

The allegations arose after videos by fans posted on social networking site YouTube appeared to show soldiers in uniform interacting with fans while singing about proscribed loyalist organisations. It also contained chants against IRA paramilitary Bobby Sands who died in a hunger strike in HM Prison Maze in County Down, Northern Ireland in 1981.

The YCV song is sectarian as the YCV is part of the UVF . A proscribed sectarian terrorist organisation .
